Well 'm an old lady and wouldn't dream of helping myself to something I hadn't paid for:eek:.My Mum drummed it into us children that stealing is wrong no matter what it is, as I did to my children.
My mum always said god is watching you all the time and I pictured this very old man with piercing eyes for some reason glaring at me when in shops and was far too frightenened of both the idea and my mum who would have been so upset that I just couldn't ever bring myself to do it.She hated thieves and liars,and always said if your naughty you get told off if you lie or steal you would get a jolly good clout as your letting your family down.
Old fashioned virtues by a lot of todays ideas but even now I couldn't let my Mum down and she's been dead for over 50 years

I often put shopping in the hood of the pram, as trying to carry a basket is impossible, and I've never missed paying for anything.

The only time I've ever eaten/drank something around the shop was from a multipack of water because I needed a painkiller. DS has once been given a frube from the pack as he was hungry and it was past his lunchtime.

As Dodger1 says above, when buying grapes, I usually try one (normally a loose one in the box) to ensure that they taste OK.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the thieves who think it is acceptable to remove the freebies that come with some magazines, without buying the magazine.
If a magazine is wrapped in cellophane with a lip gloss, mascara, moisturiser or such like attached it is intended as a treat for the person buying that magazine, not as a freebie for anyone who can steal it from the cellophane! :mad:

Many years ago, when I was still at school, I worked in a self-serve greengrocery. I was only 16 so didn't have the nerve to make a fuss when a customer brought a bag of mushrooms to be weighed when she admitted taking off the stalks - because she didn't want them! Sure enough she had a bagful of mushroom tops!

It's only a fact if you can back it up. Otherwise it is just you saying it is a fact, which is completely different.

It's stealing, I've never seen it happen in a shop though, I don't really like shopping in them so buy most of my stuff online to avoid the people that think it's ok to steal.

They shouldn't be eating the grapes without washing them as they are probably covered in nasty synthetic pesticides unless they are organic grapes

I'm shocked knowone has mentioned the teenagers who "try" deodorants and body sprays - there a lot in reading with some bad karma coming after I bought a nearly empty bottle - it lasted only a few sprays for me

I hate watching teenager spraying bottles, fumigating the aisle and cracking all of the little plastic triggers so the unsuspecting buyer gets jipped.

Oh and in boots - I wanted a lipstick from the rimmel colour drench range - all were tried already including all 30 or so in the drawer underneath. I now understand why some boots Sellotape their lipsticks shut!
