Today I am looking through the recipe books and menu planning using up what is in store in order to avoid any extra shopping. It would be a good thing to use up what we have in as we are away on our hols in 5 weeks time! This year is flying by!

evening!
busy day here so far, got up early and went carbooting, then shopping, did 2 loads of washing, cleaning also took DS1 for a driving lesson:eek: actually he was very good:D am now about to dish up our roast beef dinner.
I hope you've all had a good day too.
smokey - its great to see you back:j hope you manage to get to sort out everything and as others have said dont forget to look after yourself too!xxxx
hope to catch you later xxx
take care all xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
everyone.
Thank you all for your kind words today, you have all made me feel very welcome.:D
The children are bathed, fed and watered and have been chased to bed for an early night (hopefully). The house is a tip but the back garden is now nice and tidy(as much as it can be), so a quick natter with a very welcome cup of coffee before I tackle the housework and have a shower. I also have lunch packs to do for the two eldest tomorrow for play school.
I got up to see OH with my eldest this morning and his rythm which settled last night is all over the place again ranging from 80 to 150 bpm they have started him on some new tablets today to see whether or not they will help. We asked the nurses today about going to Manchester and they say that a decision will be made tomorrow.
Regarding the back garden OH was in the process of levelling it off and sorting out beds for the veggies and alll this is still half done. I have been chatting to my sis and we both think that it could be worth getting someone in to do the heavy work if we can get it done fairly cheaply. It could be weeks before OH can get back to it and I know he will try and tackle it himself. The fencing that blew down in the strong winds a while back are going to be fixed by me, sis and BIL after easter so that's one job that should only cost 2 posts and 3 fence panels.:T :T :T
Anyway I am going to finish this coffee and get the hoover out.
I hope you all have a good night,
Smoky. xxxxIf you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb

Good Evening all
Haven't had chance to read through the whole thread, but hugs to those who need or want them.
catznine - clove oil is meant to help. Tastes vile though!
I had to go into work this morning - Mortgage year end so had a load of account and report balancing to do. Was meant to be out of there by 1, but left at about half three.   Gutted, as it takes an hour to get back so have wasted the nice weather.Still its double time so get to claim 12 hours overtime!:T
OH (Househusband, allegedly:p ) is sat watching George of the Jungle at the moment:rolleyes: , so I thought I'd come up here and get some meal inspiration. One thing thats never lacking on here.
Have a good evening all,
Metherer
xNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Hi everyone!
Sounds like everyone has been enjoying the sunshine...myself included. Managaed to get a dark load out and dried and then did both the patchwork quilts. Meanwhile OH mowed the grass and has cut back some of the plants. It looks like most of the cheapie plants I bought for 20p-50p from local fetes have survived but my one £8 plant has yet to make an appearance. We shall have to see!!
Other than that have tried to do very little chore wise and have instead been enjoying my cross stitch. Have nearly finished my current project and am itching to get on with the cushion cover I have in one of my books [it's the other half of a pair and I've already completed one]
OH and I made the ratouille roll for supper...cheap and nutritious. Shall post it in the recipe thread tomorrow when I've got work's broadband connection rather than my dinosaur dial-up.
Good to see you back on board Smokey....always enjoy the lovely piccies you put on.
Have a good evening...I have Timeteam and a glass of red wine calling me.

I have to admit I could not stand the state of the place anymore and did the housework! It's all been hoovered, dusted, polished, tidied, all except the dining room which is still a tip and I am not bothering with that at all until The Pain is gone. He can't even be bothered to take his clean clothes upstairs off the table so why should I bother. He even made a big deal about having to empty the dishwasher last night because I went out and forgot to do it!
I still have a cold and had a lovely offer for some tlc and a cuddle on the sofa but as I'm not into confusing the children with 'uncles' I've had to turn the offer down. My love life is staying well away from the house for at least the next 15 yearsOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Evening everyone,
And smokybabe hope your OH starts to settle down a bit, must be so worrying for you all.
This is the first time I've posted on the daily thread as I always feel I haven't much to say but have had a great day today. Amazing how lovely the sun makes you feel!
Felt totally sick this morning (morning sickness) and have a cold, and hubby let me have a lie in (this is becoming a habit which I must get out of ....) Finally woke about 11 and the kids came up and got into bed with me to watch CBeebies for a while all cuddly and lovely
After lunch we decided to go out on the field in front of our house for a play, This makes it sound like we live in the countryside - anything but LOL we just happen to live on the edge of our massive estate next to the bit they decided to leave green. We played football with the kids and flew a kite :T Heaven. Spent half an hour wandering about looking for the icecream van that we kept hearing and did eventually find
When we got home, hubby power washed the patio, it looks great now, just need to level a big wonky bit. And I sat in the garden and sowed some veg seeds - in compost from the compost bin - in my little window sill greenhouse thingy. Never done this before so fingers crossed!
MIL was supposed to come and take kids to McDonalds but she bailed. And I managed to NOT go to McDonalds and just do fishfingers at home instead - much cheaper.
After tea, made banana muffinsand some mini fruit jellies for kids lunches in the week.
Feeling like a lovely homely family-y day :TJan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)
