Smokybabe, I am gald you posted. I can't imagine how you're coping. I wish we were all nearby so we could take turns helping out. A virtual hug seems so inadequate.

I'm just about to get everyone ready to go to mass, then I'm going to try to get on top of the jobs I didn't manage to yesterday. The baby had a massive 30 hour feedathon which left me pretty worn out! But I slept well and I'm raring to go.

So, leek and potato soup for lunch and slow cooker curry for dinner. I also want to get the dusting and sweeping done and clean the bathroom. DH is on laundry duty again. I had forgotten how much extra washing one little person can generate!

    Have a restful day everyone.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

    Morning all :hello:

(((hugs))) to smokey and anyone else who needs them.

I'm having a great weekend so far. Yesterday OH bought me a car! I am SO excited - I pick it up on Thurday (part exchange mine).
Then we had a party night at dancing last night (always a great social).
Today is a girle day out in London at the Vitality show (we do it every year, and have a great time) - so sore feet by tonight...

Yes, a good weekend all together :D

I hope you all have a great day today

    Morning Chums ,
hope all goes well smokeybabe with your OH.don't forget to take care of yourself and eat properly as you need extra strength at times like these.
Well it's the beginnning of April, so I am in the mood to start my spring cleaning. The weather doesn't look too bad at the moment, at least its dry. I finished my mammoth ironing pile last night so I feel quite virtuous. Made a huge batch of veggie soup yesterday so my freezer is looking a bit fuller. One of my granddaughters came yesterday with her SATS revision in tow .My house is a haven of peace for the kids at the times when they want to revise. She had a practice paper, and she finished it in under the hour so she got a pat on the back and a nice lunch, I then dropped her at her drama class. She has a show coming up in May that I am looking forward too. I probed her gently about the problems she was having at school with the bullying and she very sensibly told me that after finding the ringleader of the bi&&hing that was going on she had a strong word with her !! and it seems to have stopped now. Her Head of Year is aware of the problems and who is causing it so I suppose thats about all the school can do. It's such a shame as Katie is such a sunny natured kid and to see her unhappy is horrible. But she seems more positive about things now and as I said yesterday two more years and she will be out of there and into the real world. What is it with teenage girls ? they are so horrible to each other.
Well only 17 more days to go till I wing off to the 'Big Apple' I am getting quite excited about it , although I'm not looking forward to the flight. My eldest DD assures me the the transatlantic flights are far better than the flights to europe, (I'll have to take her word about that) . I am not a good flyer I'm afraid .I don't mind once I'm up there it's just the getting up and coming down I'm not keen on. Still needs must when the devil -or Virgin- drives. I will try to find an internet place over there and try to log on to see how you are all doing at some point.
Today I am off to Larkfield swimming pool with my DD and her four little boys.Lots of splashing about as three of her lads are only 2, 6 7, the baby is a hoot in the water as he adores it and is like a little seal.Granny will have a firm hold of him though as he sees no danger at all. Then back to my DD's for dinner tonight .
Hope you all have a great day, and no one pulls your leg too much this morning.I am not asnswering the phone until after 12.00. as I have five scallywag grandsons who are good at thinking up tricks on their old Granny.I have become wise to them though.
<<<hugs >>>to those in need and big smiles to the rest of you

    Good Morning All

Smokey - so glad to have you back.(((hugs))) for you and OH.

Lovely and sunny here . Was v lucky at footie yesterday as we were sat in the sun and Charlton won so was a good day all round.

Came home to find a couple of cupboards on the wall, they didnt do much as hit a few problems - one being that the oven is the wrong one so need to sort that Monday - trying v hard not to get too stressed over it.

Today OH is taking DS to his away footie match. I will be concentrating on washing and ironing. Later we need to take some stuff to the tip and drop off DD at another friends for a sleepover.

No cooking facilities still so Indian tonight.

    Have a great day all.

    Morning :hello:

Welcome back smoky :j :j :j Great big ((((((hugs)))))) to you and OH.

Yesterday turned quite eventful - just after I posted, next door neighbour's boyfriend started laying into her (verbally) screaming and shouting obscenities at her for almost an hour. Eventually I phoned the police. Once they arrived it had already calmed down, but they chucked the boyfriend out. Hope neighbour is still speaking to me and not too embarrassed - but my conscience is clear :o

I've only got a couple of mins as I need to be at choir practice for 10. I love Palm Sunday but it means we have 2 extra anthems to rehearse

Cooking later on will be chilli con carne (with PROPER expensive mince from the Farmhouse Direct stall on Borough Market  ) and probably a carrot & coriander soup as well (I bought too much coriander - LOL!) I think I need to drop into John Lewis after church as I have a shortage of soup containers.

Anyway, might pop back on later but for now I need to ger dressed and set off for church.

    Love Rzl xx

    Morning All

Smokybabe: Hope your OH is better soon, ((hugs)) to you, I know how it feel to be combining hospital visiting with caring for children. This time last year DH was in hospital with his appendix about to burst.

Busy day today, OH is going to is parents to put togerther there shed. I've got washing to sort and meals to get ready for the week ahead. DH is off work this week and is on childcare duties so I'm hovering between getting everything ready for him and leaving him to it (would that be to evil?). Also planing to have another bash at yogurt making today as my first attempt was a disaster.

Later on DD and me are going to a 1st birthday party of a work collegue of mines DS, dont want to go really but its not something I can get out of. After that its off to the in-laws with a curry for tea.

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning all

Gorgeous day here, the sun is shining and the birds are singing. I have to go to work today, so planting my potatoes will have to wait until next week, but the weather forecast sounds OK.

Welcome back smokybabe, I hope your OH feels better soon. Aimee if you are out there, follow smokys example and come back.

Leftover curry for tonight, but I have some eggs and bananas that need using so it might be banana bread for desert.

    Have a good day everyone

  • Morning All :hello:

Another early one for me!!, lots planned for today and hopefully it will be a nice sunny day.

Unfortunatley I didn't get all my cleaning done yesterday (I was busy on here reading some of the older threads and links to get some more OS tips) so thats been carried forward to today along with a pile of ironing to do. WM on already.

Off to town today to sort out a new mobile for my DS, he accidentally broke the one he had for xmas and its worked out cheaper to buy a new one than to get it repaired

Anyway hope you all have a good day and hugs to all that want/need them

    Morning boys and girls,

HUGS to smokey - hope your OH gets things sorted asap

Today I am cleaning the bathroom, the hall, changing the bed and hopefully finishing my book. Could also pop to town as I didn't go yesterday and I'ld like some sort of drawer thing for my recycling. OH needs to do his ironing.

    Breakfast: American pancakes
Lunch: Sandwiches, or Soup if I can be bothered making any
    Dinner: Spanish Omelette

    Good morning everyone

Smoky hope the doctors manage to get to the bottom of your OHs troubles. You must be so worried.

Kyle hope the headache lifts soon and you start to feel better. (Also, thanks for the mention last week. (hugs))

    twink :hello: and (hugs)

(((hugs)))) to all OSers who need or want one.

My weekend has been a great one so far. DS, DD and I had a barbecue yesterday in a very windy garden - at one point the smoke from the bbq was making mini-tornados! After that DS and DD started making a film about a mop. Kept them occupied long enough for me to get the washing done, kitchen cleaned and some other tidying up done so I can't complain.

The sun is shining today so we are going to mass then out for a drive to who-knows-where. May treat DS and DD to lunch too. Then its back home to get organised for school tomorrow. Only three days til they break up. :j

Have been looking online for a bargain break. Found a four-day break in Cologne and for flights and three nights in an hotel, the total is just over £300 for all three of us. I think my credit card may just take a hit today.

Oh, and my tomato and carrot seeds have started sprouting! DD is learing all about growing things in science so I can see this turning into an experiment for her.

    Have a sunny Sunday.
