  • Well I got married last June, on eof the hotest days of the year!!!

As for the cost, it was £28K and £4K for the honeymoon.

I know this was a lot, my mum paid £2k and wife's parents paid £8K. The worst thing is my wife thought it only cost about £14K!!!!!!! She only realised last month what it cost when her brothers g/f ask how much we spent. Couldn't believe my ears when she said "about £14K". I was driving at the time and could of crashed, it was only then that she realised what we spent. The crazy thing is she knew what everything cost as she sorted everything out

It was a great day, and honeymoon was out of this world

I didn't have favours at my wedding although I thought about it. I am glad I didn't as I have enough stress trying to arrange everything else. I don't think anyone missed them.

I went to a wedding where we were given a scroll with a poem and to be honest it went straight in the bin when I got home. It may sound ungrateful but I have enough clutter already.

As long as everyone has enough to eat and drink then they will be happy.

You can waste a lot of time and effort on the little things like favours and to be honest the most important thing is enjoying the day the day with your family and friends.

The idea of big bowls of sweets/chocolates sounds like a great idea if you want do something.

    Have a great day.

it depends on if you are supplying just the welcome drinks and wine for meal plus a toasting drink

or if you are supplying ALL the drinks ie all day and or night?!

the "norm" is 1 welcome drink ,1 or 2 glasses of wine with meal (or just put bottles of red and white on each table) then 1 glass of fizzy for the toast

work out how many glasses each bottle of wine / champers is (i THINK its something like 6 glasses tho may be wrong) then work out how many people are coming :)

Remember that some hotels charge corkage on wine that you bring in from outside.

We are having the drinks package the hotel provide, Bucks Fizz for arrival, Wine with meal and Champagne for toast.

Also a jug of water on each table
