I'm getting married next weekend!
The ceremony, a meal and hotel rooms for the bridal party in Gretna has worked out at under £2000. That includes a 3 course meal for 17 people, plus wine with the meal. I've made a lot of things myself like the invitations and cake, and I've scoured ebay and internet sites for bargains for other bits and pieces. Here I go again on my own....0 -
we got married on July 30th 2004 (was a friday and one of the hottest days of the year!)
we didnt really have a budget but ended up spending about 9k (not inc honeymoon etc),we were lucky that both sets of parents contributed or we wouldnt have been able to afford as big / expensive wedding as we did (the idea of starting married life in debt wasnt appealing ! lol)
i shopped about as we set the date 2 yrs in advance and so was able to get some bargains
getting married on a friday was one of them
we had everything we wanted (apart from a band but marquee venue didnt allow it
) yet didnt spend anywhere near what the "average" is 0 -

We had favours at our wedding! Most of them were left on the tables. I would say about 30% of people took them. I had the traditional 5 sugar almonds!0

I'm getting married 15th July and we've worked to a budget of £1000, OH's parents are paying for the cake and a friend of my sister is doing the photo's for us, using future fil's car as my wedding car ( very nice BMW ), hired a room for £75 at a local club and doing our own catering so that's saved us a load of money.Pole Dancer In Training :rotfl:
