Thanks will have a look at those but being scottish he has just got to be in a kilt, wouldn't be the same otherwise even thinking of getting a tartan wedding dress! no idea where to look though0 -

Yes, I was already thinking of doing it on a friday - most of the people who'd be invited live fairly locally, so if they just wanted to come for the evening they wouldn't necessarily have to take a day off work. Just have to make sure that my sister would be able to make it (she's a teacher - working part time at the moment due to my small niece, and I'm not sure which days she'll be working next school year).

our wedding was in summer hols ,but we made sure our guests knew the date well in advance in case they booked their holiday for the same time!!

I dont know if anyone on here has said this before but i saved a fortune importing my wedding dress my self. i had a full skirt with a cathedral length train and the bodice was covered in hand stitched jewels cost in uk with petticoats and hand bag and shawl £1200 cost from america £250 including shipping. I had my brides maid dresses imported as well cost around £40 each again they included a bag and a shawl.

same here but this was back in early 2004 when the import tax was lower
i paid £249 (for a maggie sottero gown & wrap thats costs £750+ over here) then another £100 in tax / shipping etc
so still a pretty good saving
plus the resale value is good on ebaythey are going for £250 at the mo so not a bad loss for me
