My partner and i have decided to get married in august 2012 and we are both in the catering and hospitality bussiness and we are looking to cater for our own after ceremony reception and evening function but we are unable to find places that we can hire and cater for ourselves as i have many contacts who will cook the food and serve etc just the way we want but we are looking for a place with some history not just a village hall. MY PARTNER WANTS TO HIRE A CASTLE UMM I THINK GOOD LUCK THERE!
we have to be able to cater for about 80/90 and we are trying to do it the mse way. So if anyone out there nows a website or anything that can help it would be grately appreciated thanks happy saving

Castle - definitely do-able!! (but might have to see if they'll let you bring your own food if thats what you want.) try here http://www.countryhouseweddings.co.uk/clearwell-castle/ let me know what you think xx

  • HI looking to get married jan 2011. Looking for a venue in sussex that you can bring your own food and booze but with some character...for about 120 people. ANY IDEAS ?? Also looking for a reggae band? And some alternative entertainment...my friend is having breakdancers which i think is gr8 but cant copy her now! Once i have the venue sorted i can think about everything else!
  • Hi again, Just wondering if anyone could recommend any places to get cheap but gd booze incl champagne? Is it still worth going to france or now the Euro is not so good maybe its not that much cheaper??

Have found a potential (not sure yet) venue but they charge £4.50 per bottle corkage so wine will have to be cheap to make it worth it (their house wine is £12).....Thank you!

Macro is good for cheap booze if you have one nearby. You have to have a business card to join from what I remember but its been a while since I last visited
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155
  • I just wanted to add my wedding photographer to here as his packages are really good value and his photographs are brilliant!

    http://www.pictureustudio.com/

The packages start at £170 for the basic one and they include all your pics on a CD! Just had some pics done of my DD today and then he's doing our wedding ones in two weeks.

He's based in Carlisle, Cumbria. Hope this helps someone, Tiger x

  • We've been engaged forever but getting married hasn't really been a priority. I think we should just do it for the legal/financial side of things. I'm not really interested in having "a do".
I had no idea a registry office is so expensive at a minimum of £170 in my area. Anyone know of anywhere cheaper?!

Thanks for the info guys. I know which I'd prefer, unfortunately Cornwall is a bit far away and Luton isn't :(
  • Hi guys,

I'm new here so please be gentle :-)
My boyfriend and I would like to get engaged sooner rather than later, I recently found a website called diamondsfactory.co.uk and I'm wondering if anyone has used the website. I have searched the internet and can't find any independent reviews about them. Their prices seem quite amazing, maybe the site is too good to be true. Some feedback would be great/

    Thanks
    xx
