So, get off at the next junction, and sleep in a layby.
Free, and stop as long as you want to.

mikey fix it, why should anyone do that when there are places like motorway service stations available to do this? They are designed for people to take a break, and have a sleep if they need to. They are also free if you ignore the pathetic parking companies. I actively encourage it as safety comes first , as the highways agency says.

Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Nope only in service stations, and only to the guidelines set out by the highways agency. Of course you are just here to troll so I figured you'd say that. You obviously don't care about advice that is actually common sense and does save lives, in the same way that equalties act does not matter.

I am grateful that you have put your opinions here, now people can see what you stand for, and that is increased accidents on motorways, and that the equalities act shouldn't apply as you deem it surplus to requirements!

I agree with you Taffy. It's not like the motorway service stations are overfilled with cars. Every one I've been in has plenty of spaces. Better to sleep for a couple of hours than cause a massive pile up because you've falled asleep at the wheel.

Mikey, if I'd to pull off the motorway I'd probably get lost :rotfl: I have absolutely no sense of direction. If I'm going on the motorway I can plan my journey by saying, ok it's the M74, onto the M6 and junction... Onto the M1... Onto the M25, Onto the M23... onto the A23 etc. (yes I've just made the easiest journey to brighton I've ever made:rotfl:) If there are any road works en route that cause me to go off route, I get all flummoxed and panicky. Thank goodness for Mr. Tom Tom :)

The government should step in outlaw these companies in hospitals and motorway service stations.
That would be the same government whose Department of Transport (via the Highways Agency) dish out contracts to service station operators, which include the 2 hour free parking limit? (I found one online the other day for, I think, Clackett Lane.) The government are complicit in this (as already demonstrated by the DVLA's stance on selling our details to all and sundry without proper cause).
