Growing up is I agree more than just age but no matter how much growing up an individual has done a thirteen year old is a child. Albeit one with experiences best kept till a later age, she could still be very young in outlook as regards other things.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Its semantics anyway, she's old enough to have her privacy on this respected and to make her own decisions, including whether or not to inform her parents.0

In what sense?
Teenager and Young Adult seem more appropriate terms for a pregnant 13 year old.
Teenager is correct and a young teenager is still a child. No she isn't a young adult at all.Legally, and morally ( as in she is still subject to parental care and control) she is still a child. Children make bad judgements due to inexperience, the fact that they have done so does not confer adulthood upon them.
I agree totally here.Person_one wrote: »Its semantics anyway, she's old enough to have her privacy on this respected and to make her own decisions, including whether or not to inform her parents.
I agree and have said that here.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I had an abortion, but i was much older, i was only 8 weeks pregnant, so i took the tablets. I went to my doctors, and she was great. Got a cancellation at my local hospital, was in in less than two weeks, it took approx 2/3 hours, she will need someone in with her, i was alone and i hated it., you can hide it well, just say you've got a heavy period, although my bleeding lasted eight weeks.0

Legally she is still a child, so it is far from semantics. I think the Aunt needs to think long and hard on this one, given that she will know the family dynamic, it is not a decision I would like to have to make.0 -

Legally she has the right to privacy on this as an adult would, so yes, semantics.
There is no decision for the aunt to make at all and she'd be massively out of line to tell the parents.0 -

In your opinion.
Not an opinion but fact. She has absolute right to privacy on medical matters and she is the one to decide if her mother should be told.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

What they do when approached in a professional capacity is not relevant to the Aunt.0
