Austria looks strange without snow at Christmas
Who would have thought we would get all of our favourite food on the first night! The hotel have to better it for the rest of the week now. Our suite is huge, we are currently relaxing on the sofa after far too much food. No idea what tomorrow has in store as we are getting conflicts on different weather reports. Whatever we decide it will be after a leisurely breakfast.
Hope everyone is ok, I am reading other posts but don't want to spent too much time on the internet while we are away.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

We are having a lovely time in Austria. Been for a long walk today so very tired from the fresh air.
I have been giving some thought to new year's resolutions while we have been away.
1. Continue meal planning, aiming to plan a month at a time.
2. Stop procrastinating when it comes to exercise, it is something I love but I let unimportant things get in the way.
3. Leave work at the door when I go home. I have a tough 14 months ahead so need to take the time out when I can without feeling guilty.
I will have my work cut out with these 3 but might try and set small monthly challenges as I go.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Happy New year fellow MFWs.
Last night's celebrations were good fun, however there is no regard to health and safety over here where fireworks are concerned. At one point we were unsure how we were going to leave the market square to go back to the hotel as we were surrounded exploding fireworks.
Today has been the nicest day weather wise and we celebrated the new year with a long, leisurely walk in the sunshine. We have a day of snow-shoeing tomorrow, a day trip to Salzburg on Friday and then home on Saturday. We have enjoyed it so much we are considering a summer holiday in Austria this year so I will start doing some research as soon as we are home.
Hope you have all had a nice start to the year xMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

We are back from holiday and back to reality. I cannot wait to get back to Austria, I am off to get some summer brochures tomorrow
Today we have done most of the washing, put the decorations away, been for a run (Mr AJM joined me and hopefully will continue to do so) have unpacked and put everything away and are having a break before contemplating the ironing.
I have updated all the spreadsheets and am looking forward to see what this year has in store for us.
I have made an exercise plan for this week, if I don't do this I won't stick to my plan and as I am following a running and rowing programme now I need to be able to do this. I have a year until the last of my promotional courses at work and need to get pretty fit in that time so I am planning on starting slowly and not getting injured.
Looking forward to dinner tonight, roast duck breast, roast potatoes and parsnips, red cabbage and yorkshire puddings with mine pie and clotted cream for dessert. We only needed to buy the cream as everything else was in the freezerMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I feel vaguely organised but I'm not sure how long that will last!
This morning I have been food shopping, I have everything for our meals until Friday when I need to go again and have extra meat in the freezer and other bits and bobs. It was quite an expensive shop but I am hoping we have the bulk of a lot of things now. I am keeping an eye on how long it takes us to go through milk, butter etc so I can work out shopping lists a bit better. I also updated my freezer and fridge inventories and wiped them out a bit.
For the rest of today I need to go to the local gym (work one is shut for another week), do some ironing, organise when to use some of our restaurant vouchers and when to meet up with my family to swap presents.
I have a plan to try and do some sorting in one room a week which should take me up to my first trip away with work for the year. This week will be the kitchen, so I am already ahead with the fridge and freezer. I am posting a list of the jobs left to do to try and keep my on track, some of them are longer term things that may not happen but I am going to attempt to strike while the iron is hot with Mr AJM!

Continuing to be productive, I have done 30 minutes of ironing, 30 minutes in the gym completing workout 1 of my rowing training programme and some cycling and 5 minutes on my abs. The last bit is a bit of a lie, I was following a 5 minute programme on my tablet but had to keep stopping, if I manage to complete it I will know it is doing some good!
I am off to do some more ironing, then make rolls for the freezer and put our dinner on. Tonight we are having roast balsamic sausages and red veg with baked potatoes.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
