Thought I should pop my head in and update, although there is not mush to say.

    No money news to report.

My ankle is getting stronger all the time, I managed a slow jog for 10 mins with the physio yesterday which led to a lot of hopping exercises. I tripped over the step at one point so cue a lot of embarrassment (Natty would be proud and laughing at/with me).

Dinner this evening was lamb rump steaks with balsamic roasted vegetables, it was lovely. I am now satisfying my food passion by watching Michel Roux Jnr :D

We are being very lazy and un-MSE this evening and having a take away, I don't remember the last time we had one. We are both very tired and I have a 23 hour day tomorrow so I am having a quiet evening. It is a busy few days with work tomorrow, watching lots of muscly men playing rugby on Sunday at the Scotland vs South Africa game, hair appointments and an evening rehearsal on Monday and a concert on Tuesday. I would say I will be glad when Wednesday gets here but I have physio then and if my aches from today's session are anything to go by then I will be very sore :(

    I am still here!

I have today off and for once am not going to go into work. I have physio this afternoon so am trying to spend the morning getting organised. I am feeling quite overwhelmed by everything I need to do although it is my own fault for being lazy over the last month.

I go away with work on Sunday for 8 days so I would like to finish my Christmas shopping by then however I haven't started it yet, I do have a list though which should help. For the first time in years money is a bit tight for both of us coming up to Christmas so I am trying to be imaginative and sensible with the cost etc.

I am posting a list for today to try and help me keep on track.

    Make shopping list
    Tidy kitchen
Sort out piles of rubbish in living room that have been there far too long
    Tidy kitchen cupboard
Ironing - my work shirts of nothing else
    List for Christmas cards
Price up items on Christmas shopping list
    Physio/shopping

I should have no problems completing this. The plan is then to buy any presents I can online tonight and tomorrow night then spend Wednesday (also a day off) going shopping to buy anything I couldn't already get. If I manage this then it means I can spend my 2 days off when I get home from my trip wrapping presents and decorating the house (if Mr AJM hasn't done it while I am away).

Right, I am off to make a start so need to move away from MSE for a bit or I will get distracted!

It is amazing what I can do when I put my mind to it :D plus I find writing a list so much easier,

    Make shopping list Almost complete
    Tidy kitchen Done
Sort out piles of rubbish in living room that have been there far too long
Tidy kitchen cupboard Done and now there is loads of room
    Ironing Done my work shirts
    List for Christmas cards
Price up items on Christmas shopping list
    Physio/shopping

I have just over 2 hours until I need to go out so I am sure I can get everything done. There is a workmen arriving soon so I am having a quick break and will then do the Christmassy things on my list until he has gone, although everything that is left to do can be done in front of the tv/laptop now :D

I think I am about done for now. I am going to go shopping before my physio appointment so I can come straight home afterwards and get going on the rest of my list.

    Make shopping list Done
Sort out piles of rubbish in living room that have been there far too long
    Ironing Done my work shirts
List for Christmas cards Done - hope to write them all this evening
Price up items on Christmas shopping list Halfway there with prices and shops
    Physio/shopping

Typically the day I decide not to go into work on a day off someone has been in touch chasing up something that should have been done for me by someone else. I have got in touch with the various people concerned and am struggling to resist the urge to go in (part of the reason I am going shopping now). There is nothing I can do about the issues in all honesty apart from putting some dynamite behind people to get them moving a bit faster. I am back to damage control mode...if I get my home life/Christmas sorted this week then when I return from my trip I will have more time to tie odds and ends up before my holidays start in 3 and a half weeks.

In my attempt to get organised I have made up a timetable for between now and Christmas with everything that I need to do and deadlines. If Mr AJM helps me I think there is every chance I will finish the things for this week. He hates lists but I am considering putting them up so we can both see them, he might feel inspired to help me then. We have both got quite lazy and I am determined that we will get more productive again...at some point!

I have not got much further than when I last posted. I seem to slow down when Mr AJM gets home, I have told him I need to help me though.

Sort out piles of rubbish in living room that have been there far too long
    Ironing Done my work shirts
List for Christmas cards Done - hope to write them all this evening
Price up items on Christmas shopping list About a third left to sort
    Physio/shopping Done

Hi aj, do you use megashopbot? I find it really good to speed things up when ordering for Xmas save looking everywhere yourself.

Today a colleague offered to do a gig for me on Thursday which has given me an unexpected day off, I could have given him a huge hug. Needless to say I feel a bit more relaxed now. I am planning to go to Edinburgh for the day tomorrow to get what I can and then I will see where I am tomorrow night and go to a local outlet on Thursday if I need to. I could do with going to the gym tomorrow as I have been a bit lazy today, however I am not sure whether to use the gym at work or pay £5 and go to the local council one. I have promised my colleague that I will not go in and do any work but I don't feel I will go against his wishes by using the gym so we shall see. Mr AJM will be home from work late tomorrow so I may start by going to the gym and then head shopping once the cheap train tickets start.

I need to go and check my shopping list ready for tomorrow now.

Let operation Christmas shopping begin. We have transferred the money over (it should be enough), I have a list for most people and I should be able to find things for the rest easily enough. I am strangely excited about the day ahead although I am sure by lunchtime I will have had enough. It is not often I do something for myself on a day off and this morning I am seeing the positive effect so will need to make an effort to stay awake more. I am not starting the day with the gym as I will be walking enough anyway. If I finish early enough I will go after but my main aim is to buy everything TODAY! If I manage it then it gives me tomorrow for physio and an afternoon with my friend and her new baby...cue another day away from work :D

Christmas presents appears to be the only thing we don't budget for at the moment but I have a plan to address that next year without Mr AJM realising. I would love to be one of these people who gets presents in the new year or through the year but I am not sure I am organised enough for that!.

I have 2 hours until I need to leave so I am going to have a tidy round the house and maybe start writing my Christmas cards. I will be done by the time I go away on Sunday...
