A rare thing is about to happen...I am about to talk money on my thread (sorry Natty). Our large mortgage is now in the £128k bracket and we are nearing £14 a day interest, if it doesn't drop below that this month then it certainly will in December :)

Money is going to be quite tight this month so I am going to try my best with meal planning, I need to make a plan for the next week today. We will also need to be quite inventive with our Christmas present shopping so I am going to put my thinking cap on.

Meal plan and rough shopping list done until next Sunday. I still need to check my inventory but I will do that in the morning if I run out of time beforehand. I will then use that to meal plan for the rest of the month...I may need some help and inspiration for some of the ingredients!

My savings are not far from going into the £30k bracket, it is a shame so much of it is based on S & S ISAs.

I have been successful on our promotion board, it is a shame that I have to wait until March 2015 though. There are few surprises in the list, one which has completely thrown me but I am sure I will get used to it!

I have meal planned for the rest of the month although I may need to tweak it a bit and freeze some of the meals rather than eat them the following day. I am away a lot at the beginning of next month and it may be easier for Mr AJM but I am only doing it if he is going to eat them and not cheat and go for take aways each night! I have managed to use all the meat from the freezer, the next thing to tackle (probably in December is some of the jars in the fridge). Now all I need to do is make a shopping list from the plan.

We're having a bit of a clear out as well - it's amazing the number of partial jars of jam, mustard and pickles you can amass without trying :D

I know most of these can keep for quite a while, but seeing dribs and drabs cluttering up the cupboards and fridge is a bit of a nuisance.

Hope you get a better sleep last night.
