I have a dream...to be a MFW

It looks like we have bought jars of things for 1 meal and then never used them again. I like having a variety of tastes in our meals but I can see I am going to have revisit some flavours a bit more often. I can use most of the jars up quite easily but there are some that are a bit more tough to incorporate into my meal planning.
I slept slightly better thanks but I still woke up very early, felt like I only dozed for the rest of the night and even though I must have slept again I dreamt about the exact things I needed to do at work todayI wouldn't mind but I'd had a really productive day yesterday at work and was hoping some gremlins had been put to bed which would have put my mind to rest. I guess it must be something else that is bothering me but I am not sure what yet. I am going to go back to jasmine tea in the evening as that seemed to help for a while.

A quick and easy dinner tonight so Mr AJM could eat it easily after a testing time at the dentist.
An update on my ankle, it is progressing well and I am up to 2 and a half minutes walking and 2 and a half minutes jogging which is constantly overseen by my physio. I am being pushed very hard on my strength exercises so my legs are getting quite strong now. I am not sure on a time frame for being with him, he mentioned being discharged in 2 weeks. I would rather be there longer but I trust him implicitly so we shall see.
I have finished watching masterchef the professionals for the week, I think Michel Roux Jnr is brilliant. It makes me want to do far more cooking.
I have no money news to report.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

£3.40 paid from £co today :j I will send it to my ISA in a sec.
I have my food head on again, I have some pork fillet in the fridge with a chinese style marinade. I have no idea when Mr AJM will be home for dinner today so thoughts I would be prepared in case he comes home early. I have also melted some chocolate which is now setting in the fridge ready for me to make some dark chocolate truffles. I am starting to test ride my Christmas recipes, next on my list is stollen (can't find the recipe I wanted to use) and mince pies which I am ashamed to say I have never made. I am planning on a mince pie bake off at work in a month's time so need to start practising.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Cooking and baking is great fun, but mince pies may fall into the category of 'things it's easier to buy than make'. Mrs E made the from scratch one year (including the mincemeat) and while they were ok, the month or so of on and off effort (and the cost), were definitely not so good! :eek:0

I am going to try once with shop bought mincemeat and see how it goes. There is a website that normally serves well (although my truffles are currently not going to plan) or I could use my mum's recipe but I am not a fan of her pastry.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I think I may start again on the truffles and use the solid stuff for a different kind of dessert. I made a malteser cake this afternoon but it is far too sweet with the milk chocolate it suggests so I will be taking the rest into work on Tuesday to go with the victoria sponge I am contributing for our children in need fundraisers.
I have just spent a couple of hours catching up on adpoints, surveys and deleting emails, I am going to try and keep up on these through the week so I don't have to do that again.
About to cook dinner which is harissa lamb and pepper kebabs with mango couscous. I would like to get everything washed up and tidied away before Strictly and then I just need to make and freeze next week's rolls after so I can be back in front of the tv to watch the festival of Remembrance and my colleagues. If any of you are watching/will be watching it I do the same job as the band in the white helmets but am based elsewhere.
I have a colleague coming for dinner tomorrow, Mr AJM is cooking the main so I can concentrate on the rest. We are having sticky chicken wings with mango salsa, beef fajitas and apple crumble. I am glad I will have a break mid way through so I don't get too stressed.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
