Have just dug out all the gift vouchers etc that we have
£49 ish B & Q
£10 Homebase
£20 Tesco
£30 Debenhams
£25 M & S
£20 Ikea
and a £10 note
I think we also have over £100 in theatre tokens! Mr AJM and I really need be a bit more proactive with stuff!
I have decided January's challenge is going to be less wasteful with food, something we find we do far too much. We have a couple of meals worth of food in the freezer, have a new meal we want to try after relative visiting this week and a plan of mine to use the M & S voucher towards one of their meal in deals so I am hoping we can get by with buying essentials only in the supermarket this week. I fear we may come unstuck when we leave for my mum's tomorrow and have too much bread left but I will try and freeze it without Mr AJM seeing if it is still in date.
I need to do a shopping list tonight as we will be doing the shop on the way home and I do not want to forget stuff that means we will buy more or buy extra and then not know what to do with it. I am planning on making our lunches for work for the month this weekend and buying as much stuff for that as possible to make life a little less stressful!
I tend to rant when I get going so if you have got here then well done but be aware next time that when I get excited about saving money I tend to go on a lot!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Fairly accurate . You forgot thrupennygate where I got short changed 3p .A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Just opened another silly savings account where I can put my OPs. The plan is to transfer in a £1 a day plus any extra money like expenses, £co etc and then just see what I have to make up at the end of each month. If I don't make any money then I will have to find at least £100 which I hope can come from teaching if I am stuck. I think any extra savings like council tax free months and any savings on insurances, utility reimbursements (sp?) will be OPd separately. This is the plan anyway!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I cannot believe I forgot thrupennygate:eek: this was indeed a pivotal moment in the world of finance, in fact I am certain that this had a knock on effect in the global markets and quite possibly caused the tipping point, or thruple-dip recession, as we now know it.
How you managed to pull yourself back from this fiscal cliff is truly beyond me GG:TFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

I think I basically said 'show me the money'. What's the saying - 'look after the pennies AND the pounds'
.
Don't mock. Tilly could have eked a week's worth of OP's out of that :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
