Pay day tomorrow and £co pay day too, so I can at least pay the money from the mobile check ins last weekend.

Another small OP to round down my mortgage total so the OP total for November is £144.80. Quite a bit under October's OP but every little helps.

We own 18% of our property (based on quite a low valuation for our house) and in the 7 months since I started keeping an eye on our daily interest and the 2 months since I started OPing I have managed to reduce the daily interest on our large mortgage by 44p! We now pay £15.01 a day instead of £15.45, that will still be a lot of money then!

November's OP was a sad and sorry £154.25 quite small compared to October's £629.78. The good news is I have already OPd £106.95 this month, £100 of which was by mistake. Not sure how well I will do for the rest of the month but if I can find £309 then I will be happy. I seem to be low on money this month though, although I am impressed with the above numbers as Mr AJM has not paid anything yet. If I get him on board then we will be laughing.

Earning £75 this weekend playing at a wedding and should have 2 teaching sessions before Christmas if I am lucky which will be another £60.

Nearly at our 2 council tax free months and I also have 2 months free from an insurance I pay for work so that is some easy money to OP and after 2 years I will finally get an annual pay rise at the end of the financial year, although at 1% they may as well not bother!

Need to get selling in the new year to try and find some more money to OP.

Just popping in to say I am still here. I have been reading everyone's diaries but not really posting. I need to OP £249 more this month to make my target for the year of £1200 but money is kind of tight so may show DH what I have paid at the end of the month and ask him to make it up. I had some private work yesterday which paid £80 so will try to survive on that as best as possible but with Christmas nights out it may not be that easy.

I have got bitten by the clothes buying bug, mainly because I don't have much that fits me anymore :( need to try and rein this in a bit.

Looking forward to finding out the official first figure for the MFiT challenge on the 12th. I am going to use that challenge as the basis for my OPs as I my aim is to get the mortgage down to £100k in the 3 years. I have also pledged to OP £3k next year but if I can stick to my OP schedule then it should be far more than that.

Watch this space and we shall see...

Just submitted the correct total for the MFiT challenge but have realised it is not much of a challenge. I am aiming to reduce my mortgage by £36938.01 giving me a total of £100k in 3 years. However if interest rates were to stay the same then my normal payments come to £33435.72 meaning I only need to OP by £97 a month to make the target. I have now added into my spreadsheet what it will be if I can make the £450 a month OPs that I am aiming for and my final mortgage total after 3 years will be £87302.29 :D at least I can try and keep between the 2 OP totals.

  • Its hard to guesstimate, I worked out my figure based on a reasonable OP but I would like to think we could do better.

I didnt realise we still got the 2 months rest now from council tax, is it an individual council decision? I seem to think they spread ours (but left it at the same price:(
