We will need to remortgage on our larger mortgage in the summer and at the same time I will look at a product for our smaller mortgage as we are currently on the SVR. I have a question that I am sure I should know the answer to but don't! When we do this does our current overpayment pot get used against the total so we start from zero again? I guess as it will give us a different LTV it will give us more products open to us? Does anyone know what the different/better LTV thresholds are? I am trying to think ahead to see if paying a bit extra over the next 6 months would give us some better options.

If we had never OPd we would officially be MF in 14 years (yesterday). We are looking at getting rid of the larger one by August 2025 and the smaller mortgage by June 2026. We can clear the smaller one now with our savings and should be mortgage neutral by mid-2022 at the latest. Mr AJM is aware that he will need to work until he is 63 at the latest based on our current OPs but I am going to see how we do over the next MFiT T4 and then consider putting all my efforts into the 5th challenge to pay off our larger mortgage. I want us to be mortgage neutral at least my 09/07/2021 so my plans are remaining fluid.

I am still planning on putting most of my money into my RS though as due to the new PSA it gives me the better interest rate which is 1% higher than our mortgage. Shame Mr AJM is a high rate tax payer or we could both concentrate our efforts on paying into these and then transferring them into the ISA each year.

I went for a short walk this afternoon, I was stupidly nervous but it was fine, 20-25 minutes staying near the house so am going to try a bit further tomorrow or even this evening. I want to find our where my limit is while Mr AJM is with me so I know what is safe to do next week when I am by myself.

woolly headed today so financials beyond me - and given the pickle I've just made of some work wouldn't trust any answer given by me :)
But glad you are improving and hope back to self next week when you are on own.

    Thanks for your reply Watty.

I am finding it quite hard to adjust to being at home but I am hoping that once I have finished unloading my car and unpacking everything that it will seem more normal. I have also spent most of the time here by myself so far but MR AJM should be home in about an hour. Not sure whether we should do something this afternoon or tomorrow or just stay around the house. I like going out and doing things and I think it is really important for our relationship but I need to think of something that will not be too tiring, especially as we are going to one of Mr AJM's colleagues for dinner and socialising tonight.

I have been shopping this morning, I hate supermarkets on a Saturday so will be trying to be organised in the future to avoid doing it! I need to do a meal plan for the next week ready for going on shopping on Monday. I would like to be able to keep the costs down but give us a variety of meals. I seem to have lost the enthusiasm I had for cooking a while ago but seeing as I have the time to do it over the next week I am going to make myself do it, especially if I can find things that don't take too much time.

I need to go through my cupboards next week once I have finished unpacking. I think I have a lot of things that I am not really wearing that are taking up space, especially as I won't be taking as much stuff over to wear I will be working from next month.

I have £20 in my wallet and about £80 in my bank. Seeing as I spend a lot less of my own money when I am at home I am going to try and limit my spending to the money in my wallet.

We went to a local farm shop yesterday that has only been open a short while. It was quite disappointing but maybe we need to go earlier on a Saturday to get some choice.

We are still thinking of going somewhere today but not sure where. Mr AJM is nagging me about what I want for my birthday, I know I gave him some suggestions last week when I was ill, not entirely sure what they were now and he doesn't remember. Does anyone else find it hard to give suggestions? I have suggested more sports kit, clothes or money towards a bike. Not sure he is keen on any of these but I can't think of anything else as I buy things if I want them...first world problems!

I still have £20 in my wallet, tomorrow will be the first day I might be tempted to spend. I am thinking of going out and do something for the day but might just go out for a walk in the afternoon. If I have lunch at home I think I can avoid spending too much money!

Feeling quite low today, shame really as it is also my birthday :( Planning on going for a short run today, I have a 10km race on Sunday and haven't exercised for 12 days now due to being ill. Also going to go for a short walk in the countryside to get back on the happy side and then heading off for a meal with Mr AJM tonight in Edinburgh.

I also need to finish unpacking my car which if I put my mind to it shouldn't take too long!

Felt a bit more positive as the day went on yesterday and a little better still today. I start my new job a week today and I am quite apprehensive which probably isn't helping.

I have finally got my car emptied so today I need to sort everything as I have dumped it in a spare room. It started neatly and organised and now isn't :rotfl: I am going to unpack everything and put it where it should be stored, I can then spend the rest of the week organising the storage areas. I intend to sort using the KM method but probably won't store things the way she says. I hope to make quite a trip to the charity shop on Friday/Saturday before repacking to go away next Monday.

Going out for a nice walk in some local woods today and making a nice pork roast for our dinner tonight.

I still have £20 in my wallet and £86 in my bank, it is going to be tough but I am trying to keep it that way until I get paid at the end of the week.

Went for a bit of window shopping this morning and treated myself to a cuppa and bacon butty. Stopped at a local country park on the way back and had a lovely hour's walk around the loch, then shopping on the way back with lunch out. I used birthday money from my nan for my spends today so I am still at the same position financially.

I am surprised how tired I still feel. Although I am not back to my 100% self of 2 weeks ago I am a lot better but my small walks each day seem to really take it out of me. I am looking forward to starting my new job next week in case it is the uncertainty of not knowing what I will be doing. However it also means I will be able to go and see a doctor to discuss what is going on and make sure there are no underlying issues.

I may need to put the heating on early today but I am trying to persevere under a blanket :rotfl:

I need to meal plan for the Thursday to Sunday, I didn't get much inspiration in the supermarket so am going to trawl my favourite websites to see if I can get any ideas. Going to get a cuppa first to try and warm up!

I didn't get anywhere with meal planning yesterday so am trying to do it now but have a severe lack of inspiration.

I have a list of jobs to do today or I will end up not getting everything done that needs to be before I start work next week.

Finish meal planning and write shopping list
    Shopping
    Sew shirts
    Washing
    Short run
    Tidy clothes cupboards

That should do for today and then I can make another list for tomorrow based on what else I manage to get done today.

We are going out to watch an ice hockey game tonight, we have never been before but I got some cheap tickets through work so thought we would give it a go.
