Slightly less money in my current account as I have rounded up my ISA, the strange number was annoying me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I decided today to pay my account back for all my flights and travel home from my expenses account seeing as that is what it is there for. It also means it is a slightly more realistic spending diary for planning my spending when I start going home more. I currently have £35.18 left to spend this month from my £10 a day challenge. I am going out for dinner with a friend tomorrow night and spending the day with my sister and niece on Sunday so although I will probably end up spending more than this I am happy with how it has gone this month. Also this is the last time I will be able to go for dinner with my firend for a while and one of the last times I get to spend the day with my sister.

Looking forward to the money shuffle on Sunday evening and maxing my RS payment for January.

Spent money on a bacon sandwich and cup of tea with a friend this morning, no idea how much it cost to put in my spending diary £3.30 something I think. Oh well! Off out for dinner with a friend tonight, it is the last time I will see her before I move away so making the most of it.

Parkrun this morning was amazing, I knocked 46 seconds off my time so my personal best on that course is now 28.15. This is the aim I set myself when I first started parkrun 18 months ago and am I so happy about this :j I am now aiming for 26.30 so 1.45 to work on now :D

I ended January 42p over on my £10 a day challenge, I managed to max my RS account payment and have the rest waiting to go over this month, just need to get my wages from cadets first. I am aiming for £10 a day again through February which should be really easy, especially as I will be home from the 20th and never spend much when I am back. I desperately need some new clothes as mine are all far too big so I may use the leftover money from my spending on that. I still intend to save as much as I can. This months along with January will be crucial in working out a budget once I am home more. We will need more money in our spending account from the 20th too so February might be tight but it will just take some getting used to again.

The money shuffle is done for February, all looking good but I wish my S&S ISA would start performing a bit better!

I submitted my cancellation request at my gym last week, you have to give 3 months notice to leave even if that is at the end of the year's contract and you can't leave before that. I decided to send an email anyway explaining that I was moving quickly with work and although I understood their terms and conditions could they give me a reduction for the 2 months I couldn't get there. I had to take in proof this morning and it looks like I won't have to pay for those months at all :money:

Had a meal out with work last night as a bit of a leaving do, I am going to miss the guys. A bit apprehensive about my new job but looking forward to starting it soon and to being home a lot more.

10 days since I last came on here so thought I should pop in.

Spending is ok although I have a few extra things to pay for this month so may not have much left to send to savings this month.

We have just had a short 3 day break in London which was a lot cheaper than it could have been, especially as we got a refund on our first night because the air-con/heating was so noisy. Unfortunately on Thursday morning I got ill so we took everything steady, managed to do stuff that day but on Friday I spent most of the day in bed. It was great having Mr AJM with me and I wish he still was as I am still not great. It started with really tingly skin which came on all of a sudden and going betweek uncontrollable shivering and being very feverish. Since Friday I have had a terrible tummy bug, went to get some meds yesterday so I could back on the train ok. I don't know if it was those but I felt terrible last night so have stopped taking them. I am meeting up with my family today as it has already been arranged but I wish I could just stay in my room. I will go to the docs tomorrow if I am not much better. Never mind, I will be driving home in 4 to 5 days.

This month my mum and dad became mortgage free, a year early. My mum was quite proud telling me, I'm glad she understands my viewpoint so felt it was something she could share with me. However...I intend to mortgage free far earlier than 1 year early! At the moment we are looking at August 2025 (4.5 years early) and June 2026 (3.5ish years early) and that is without changing our lifestyle or maxing OPs. We will be mortgage neutral far earlier than this which is what my focus is towards. I am going to see how our finances/lifestyle are over the next 6 months and then maybe re-evaluate the plans and see if we can work it a bit earlier.

No diagnosis from the doctor about why I am unwell but I have some tablets which I hope mean I will be able to sleep through the night without being in pain. Ou workload means I am off until Wednesday which is good and I will be starting the drive home on Thursday. I need to start packing up my room but I will have to do it in small stages so I don't over-exert myself. It shouldn't take too long, it is the loading of my car that will be a pain but will start that tomorrow.

I also need to use this afternoon to price up our home insurance as it is due on Thursday and I have been a bit lazy about it!
