OH had it just after Christmas, very nasty, lasted for days and it took his stomach about 2 weeks to recover so hugs, no one else got it weird
Congrats on the North run ballot :T:T
Just checked all the quotes for my home insurance and for the fourth year in a row my renewal quote has been the cheapest by far, it makes it so much easier. What is even better is we have saved £264 over the year towards it and don't need it all so I will be able to OP an extra £111.88
At least that is one of my jobs done, I am putting off packing as I have tomorrow off work and should be feeling better to do it by then.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I have just watched the latest Martin Lewis Money series back-to-back and have a list of things to work down. The first is 2 flights I am sure arrived over 3 hours late, probably won't get much compensation but I will have a look anyway. Seeing as I can't do much else I am going to see how far I can get this evening.
Edit: the flights weren't quite 3 hours late so that is a no-go, I have found a better fuel deal that will save us £159 a year. This is good as our current tariff ends at the end of April.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Just done the energy switch, I will be at home again before we need to start sorting anything out which is good. I have also transferred the money for the home insurance into our joint account and OPd the extra. We still seem to have a lot of extra money in that account and I can't quite work out why so need to do a bit of investigating before I think of things I can do with it...
I am going to give myself a couple of jobs per day to do next week when I am at home, the two main ones are to get a local charity to come and pick up our old sofa and to get someone in to see if the house is properly insulated. For a brand new house the house is a lot colder than it should be, Mr AJM said he was sitting with a hat on yesterday! One room gets lovely and warm but this is it. Not sure if I should ring a local company or an energy company, I want to know the situation before I think about getting quotes.
Today is definitely a get things done day. On Martin's suggestion I have purchased a 1 day UK travel insurance policy for £2 and now have 2 for 1 on movies for a whole year...it's a no-brainer!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Doing all my packing at the moment, why does it take so long? I think I am being too fussy about how I am packing it all. It doesn't look like too much to put in my car right now but I know I still have some more to go and also need to take all my instruments and some of my uniforms from work. The tetris game that is packing my car begins tomorrow afternoon.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

My car is very full. I have some more stuff to put in from my room in the morning and my uniforms and some bits from work and then I will be ready to go. I hope the journey doesn't take forever tomorrow but I am not going to set any plans, I don't know how many service area stops I might need :rotfl: although I am really hoping my body will behave for me tomorrow! Whatever happens I will be having dinner at home at some point tomorrow night and leaving the unpacking of my car until Friday while Mr AJM is at work so he can't get annoyed with all my stuff in the house! Writing that last bit has got me a little bit excited :j I am glad that I will be able to go home every weekend now but I know it is going to take some adjusting for us.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I made good time yesterday with the drive taking 9 and a half hours. I had a low point mid-afternoon but stopped for some fresh air and was fine. The drive seems to have taken it out of me and I didn't sleep very well last night so am having to take things easy today. I managed to get my bedding out of the car, strip it and put it in the washer but I think that will be it for a while. I am hoping now I am home I will naturally start to get better but we shall see. I have lost weight in quite a short period of time so am trying to get more food inside me to help, I want to get to the bottom of what is going on but due to moving and not starting my new job for 10 days it might take a little while.
I have made a few OPs this week due to making our home insurance renewal and paying our factoring bill today, so far this year we have OPd £628.33. It's a shame part of this is due to a council tax free month, it would be great to do this regularly. We have a buffer of £600 in our home account which I would love to use as an OP but I am going to leave it in case we need it in a emergency in the house or to pay for insulation if our house needs more.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Sounds like you need a rest AJ and make the most of adjusting to home.
I have really enjoyed your diary, I read it a while ago before I started posting.
Is the cinema deal just for one company? Our area recently opened a light cinema so we are spoilt with a short walk to get there... but 2 for 1 may just make us venture further.Mortgage restart June 2018 £119950Re mortgage August 19 £110470, … Mortgage November 22 £85600 final 0% CC 3300Home renovations - £65000, mid 2018 - mid 20220 -

Thanks, it is reassuring to know someone is reading and I'm not talking to myself :rotfl:
It is the meerkat movie deal, I'm not sure if it is just for one cinema I need to double check. I know friends that have used them for both though.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
