Trying to make a bit of a money plan for when I move. I am going to keep an eye on how much I am spending on food Monday-Friday while I am down here during January and then work my budget for March on that. I am not sure how much extra I will be able to save when I move but I am hoping that anything will be better than nothing.

The good thing is I won't need my cadet money for anything now so should be able to put all of that into savings. I have £250 set aside at the moment which I will leave but put the rest into my RS account. That money will then be a buffer while things settle down at home. I am going to save the money I would have paid in gym membership once it ends, every little helps!

I am heading home on Wednesday this week, it should have been Friday but I have a funeral to go to. Mr AJM is going to be naughty and pull a sicky so he can come with me, they wouldn't have let him go. We will have to be careful but we should be home again before the teachers leave school.

I have £21.99 left of my spending budget so far this month and £161.99 for the rest of the month.

I am feeling a little bit low about moving today. I have realised I have 3-4 weekends left down here and have a lot I would still like to do so I am going to head out for a walk this afternoon to take in the countryside before I head home. I am not looking forward to telling my niece that she won't get to see me so often, I am going to ask her to decide on some things she would like to do with me so we can make some plans.

Off to volunteer at my local junior parkrun so hope everyone has a good day x

If I keep to this spending plan I should have £233.70 left at the end of the month, I don't remember when this last happened, especially as I have already put £200 into my savings.

This month we will own 34% of our house, how depressing! I would love to be able to see these figures change a lot quicker but my focus has to be in savings while I have a good rate of interest.

Here are my spending total so far this month.

    £72.04 Food
    £47.05 Train travel
    £32 Triathlon introductory sessions
    £2.65 toiletries
    £6.99 new diary

    £160.73 Total so far

I normally pay for the train travel out of an allowance I am given from work but for some reason forgot this month. The triathlon sessions are a one off as is the diary. Not too bad and I am still under my £10 a day challenge. The running total is really helpful as I make a note of it at the top of my shopping list before I head out and try to keep under it. Today should be a NSD but only if I manage to find stuff to do so I don't get bored as I have a day off work today.

Did a HIIT workout when I got up this morning and am going running with a new running partner this evening. I need to use the MFP app but stopped quickly because I find it hard to work out some of the foods as I am not preparing them.

I have ended today as a NSD :j I was tempted to buy something earlier but decided against it. I should only need to buy dinner for tomorrow so will try to remain strong again. However I need to buy some new running leggings on Thursday. The drawstring broke on mine last week and I am currently spending the first half of each run pulling them up!

I had a rather annoying expense today. I had to buy some goggles at the pool this afternoon, it turns out mine are on the spare bed at home! Oh well, at least I have a set for travelling and a set for home now.

I need to pack my non essential clothes, summer stuff etc to go on a coach up to Scotland tomorrow morning. I am having to wait a little longer for confirmation of my move so can't send as much stuff up as I wouldhave liked but this will help a bit. I think I have some poeple who can help me around the time I may need to move the rest of my stuff so may need to ask for a few favours.

Off out to cadets tonight, I am making the most of this money and saving it as I won't have this luxury for much longer.

My wardrobe is a lot lighter now my stuff is on its way to Scotland, shame I couldn't get a lot more stuff up there, hopefully next week I can start making some more concrete plans either way.

One of my colleagues has very kindly offered to take me to the sirport today which helps my spending, I have £25.78 left of this month's money to spend. I need to buy lunch and a bus and train ticket at the other end and possibly some running leggings. I will spend less money over the next few days so it should even itself out by the end of the weekend.

Nearly £25 to spend, I am expecting today to be a NSD so things are looking good for saving at the end of the month. I am going to use this approach for February as well, I might add a savings target to my signature. I am aiming for £500 a month but once I have finished with the cadets it may not be as easy.

We have a funeral to go to today :( nothing more to say about this, she would have been 40 next month!

Although my spending has gone fairly well this month I am not sure I will end up only having spent £310 (my £10 a day target), however I have paid for all my train travel from this (£22.85) which I normally pay from the expenses work give me.

This is how my accounts are likely to be at the end of the month.
£200 approx left in current account
£250 that was set aside for PT sessions that are no longer needed
£250 payment for cadet work to be paid in at the weekend

I need to pay £288.76 to max out my RS account this month so will probably do this. I don't know whether to keep some money (£250) set aside for entering running events this year so it won't have to come off my monthly pay while I am still trying to stick to this spending plan. I can either transfer whatever else is left into my ISA, even though the interest rate isn't as good or do one transfer at the end of January and another at the beginning of February so I can max out my RS account for as long as possible.

I have just realised I haven't posted in my own thread this week...I start working in Scotland again on March 1st :j so will be able to go home every weekend to see Mr AJM. It will taking some getting used to, especially the spending side of things and readjusting how much we need to put into our joint spending account but that is partly why I set myself the £10 a day spending challenge for January. If work approve my time off I should be home from Feb 19th to sort stuff out which will give me 10 days at home before I start at my new place of work. I am busy trying to get everything in order down here and pack everything up but it should pretty much be done by the end of next week.

Absolutely shattered today from a long week so far at work and not sleeping very well after spending a nice chunk of time at home. I am looking forward to doing nothing this evening :D
