By the way, has anyone ever set up a thread purely for holy grail products?
Was thinking if we posted hair / skin type and then which products are HG for us and why it could help others find their HG too. I know a HG for one person isn't necessarily going to be a HG for someone else, but sometimes I just get bewildered by the choice of products out there, and knowing others with similar skin type recommend would be good.
I don't really trust magazine recommendations as am sure there is a conflict of interest given the product suppliers advertise with them, and they rarely say anything bad about any product.0 -
Have you tried the Liz Earle one? She has two in her range - the original one is Orange Flower and the newer one is Energising. I prefer the original one as the Energising smells too much like geranium for me. I would never have described either as "overpowering" though. x
Oooh - Orange flower. I am mad for Neroli, I'll have to check that out.... well, once I've reduced my current shower get stash to a sensible level. Maybe 2015!0 -
Does a snapped lippy count as a UU or a TA? I didn't like the texture anyway but thought I'd try to use it up by wearing to work!

No. 7 is 3 for 2 at the moment, has anyone tried their scrubs and the cleansing water? Any reports would be much appreciated!
Depending on your skin type, the foaming cleanser for normal/oily skin is lovely and very MSE as a little goes a long way - I've got combination skin, oily chin, forehead and nose by the end of the day which is also pretty sensitive and this suits me very well.0 -

I had one UU this morning - Burts Bees Peppermint Foot Lotion, WNBA, this smelled so strongly of peppermint it made my eyes water! I'm glad it was just a trial size I had. I am going to use my BS hemp hand cream on my feet now to finish that quicker as I have got bored of it for hand cream.
I have used this many times without a problem, it is very similar to Clinique all about eyes.Ok I got super ruthless tonight - threw all of this on Ebay... only about another 5 bags of stuff I have to list now :S :S

OMG! How long did that take you?wondercollie wrote: »I've decided that when I finish a full size anything and I have multiple travel sizes to alternate 1 full, replace with travel and work it that way. Let's face it we all have a stash of hotel products that we think we'll use but never do! So all the body washes from hotels are going into the liquid soap bottles.
It's going to be a cold turkey month. I've booked the hotel and air for Vegas for the mini-marathon. You guys seem to get better rates than we do here in Canada for Vegas packages and before somebody tells me to go on line and do better forget it. I spent 50 minutes on line and then another hour with my favourite travel agent and got the same results. One I live in an area where there are very limited choices of direct flights to anywhere (in the last year, I've seen Houston, Minneapolis, San Franciso, Dever and Calgary to get to where I needed to be) And then because I'm travelling solo, my room rate sucks. The preplanned packages work out cheap because they are based on double occupancy not on having a room to yourself. *******end of rant.
Has anybody ever tried NARS moisture lotions and potions. That's what I've decided to treat myself to after the marathon (and dinner at Gordon Ramseys). It's cheaper to get the NARs down south.
So, I've got a body wash that won't give up, a face scrub that's nearly there and a Rimmel Kohl pencil that's kinda stubby....
Good luck with the Marathan. Boo to single occupancy room rates, it's so unfair.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Couple of UU to report this morning:
Naked Orange Flower Shower Gel 250ml - WNBA, the scent was really overpowering and very "flowery" which I don't like.
S&G Hand Food (the big one!) - WMBA, I have a couple of Nails Inc ones that my mum gave me over the weekend to use first!
And a couple of IN's to declare:
Nivea Happy Time shower gel - Bought this to tide me over till my Dr Bronner's arrives. Didn't expect to run out of the Naked so soon but turns out OH used his shower gel up during the week and has been using mine instead! Nivea is one of the only ones that doesn't irritate my skin.
Couple of Nails Inc hand creams - hand cream is hand cream to me and they came at just the right time!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
I have a few more uu's to report, managing to get through these quite well now after a quiet August
Clarins water cleanser (tester size) - wnba, it was ok but nothing special
Elemis hand cream - wnba, quite liked this hand cream but found the rose smell too powerful
conditioner from hair dye - cant buy again as not sure which hair dye this came from but it was ok
I am nearly finished a 500ml shower gel, so looking forward to using something else.VSP member #250 -
Hello Ladies!
I unfortunately returned from holiday - booo! I was in Canada and the US and I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but I didn't see a Bath and Body Works anywhere, so I managed to come home without a whole suitcase of their stuff!
I only had one airport purchase of a bottle of CKin2u. This is my HG daytime perfume.
I did lug home a huge supply of hotel minis but these don't count! I also didn't UU anything up as the stuff in our various hotels was so nice. Very :money:. I did start using the Balance Me face wash whilst I was out there and it has confused me somewhat! It seems to have been great for my skin but it smells absolutely disgusting. So I'm not sure if I love it or not!
One hotel had their own shower gels for sale which were absolutely divine but somehow I managed to resist (I think it was probably the $15 a bottle price tag!)
I hope everyone has had a lovely couple of weeks0 -

indiepanda wrote: »Another UU - box of biore nose strips. I've been using these for years - find them kind of addictive because when you look at the strips you can see stuff on them so it makes you think they are doing something worthwhile.
BUT I'm not sure if they really do my skin much good.
My lovely facial lady told me that they're bad for your skin because they rip a small layer of skin off at the same time, leaving enlargened pores and more chance of bacteria entering the pores (then more blockages and blackheads)... but maybe she was just trying to make more money out of me!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0
