No buying unnecessary toiletries in September

1 TA for me, thanks for the advice on the August thread about what to do with items you don't like.

Soap and Glory Face, Soap and Clarity: WNBA, far too drying, despite the claims on the packaging.

That's 7 items from the Big Splendour kit gone now (I TA the lipgloss as it was horrible)! The scrub is almost done and I use the mist occasionally. The only thing that I won't UU is the bubble bath as I don't have a bath! I'll give it to someone that likes baths. I won't repurpose it as shower gel as I'm not a fan of the sweet scent. Definitely won't be buying any more S&G!

I'm aiming for a no-spend month too as I don't need anything!

and one TA - Boots botanics brightening eye makeup remover - tried this and it stung, then I read the back of it and it says 'warning avoid contact with eyes' - umm it's an eye make up remover, confused! anyway it's in the bin now and wnba

glad to announce my first UU of the month!

Boots tea tree and witch hazel face scrub...had this for absolutely ages as I used others inbetween, but I had no problems with it and I have occasional spot prone combination skin

Felt nice taking another bottle away from my toiletries stash!!

I'm in....

My mum was away for a couple of weeks in August so added a couple of shampoos and a body wash from her bathroom when we were de-junking.

I left the unopened bottles at mum's and my sister and I shared a bunch of bottles with a teeny bit left in them.

I have a huge stash of shampoo, body wash, soap, hand wash and conditioner....I reckon I have enough for at least a year without needing to buy any more.....but will I stick to it????

Oh dear, I bought one of these last month but haven't started it yet! Seems a bit blimmin' useless to have an eye make up remover you can't use near the eyes :rotfl: It must remove mascara by magic instead. Boots will be getting mine back if it stings my eyes!

I had one UU this morning - Burts Bees Peppermint Foot Lotion, WNBA, this smelled so strongly of peppermint it made my eyes water! I'm glad it was just a trial size I had. I am going to use my BS hemp hand cream on my feet now to finish that quicker as I have got bored of it for hand cream.

I've decided that when I finish a full size anything and I have multiple travel sizes to alternate 1 full, replace with travel and work it that way. Let's face it we all have a stash of hotel products that we think we'll use but never do! So all the body washes from hotels are going into the liquid soap bottles.

It's going to be a cold turkey month. I've booked the hotel and air for Vegas for the mini-marathon. You guys seem to get better rates than we do here in Canada for Vegas packages and before somebody tells me to go on line and do better forget it. I spent 50 minutes on line and then another hour with my favourite travel agent and got the same results. One I live in an area where there are very limited choices of direct flights to anywhere (in the last year, I've seen Houston, Minneapolis, San Franciso, Dever and Calgary to get to where I needed to be) And then because I'm travelling solo, my room rate sucks. The preplanned packages work out cheap because they are based on double occupancy not on having a room to yourself. *******end of rant.

Has anybody ever tried NARS moisture lotions and potions. That's what I've decided to treat myself to after the marathon (and dinner at Gordon Ramseys). It's cheaper to get the NARs down south.

So, I've got a body wash that won't give up, a face scrub that's nearly there and a Rimmel Kohl pencil that's kinda stubby....

No. 7 is 3 for 2 at the moment, has anyone tried their scrubs and the cleansing water? Any reports would be much appreciated!

The microdermabrasion face scrub is very good (assuming they haven't changed it). VERY scrubby, you only need a tiny bit, it lasted me over a year of 1-2 uses per week. Not if your skin is sensitive!

Another UU - box of biore nose strips. I've been using these for years - find them kind of addictive because when you look at the strips you can see stuff on them so it makes you think they are doing something worthwhile.

BUT I'm not sure if they really do my skin much good. I'm going to give them a break for a while and see how I go. When I go for my once monthly facial the beautician usually does some extractions and I'm not that prone to blackheads anyway. I think some of what I see on the strip is actually little nose hairs rather than baby whiteheads, and my nose really isn't hairy enough I need to pay to get it waxed!

Also threw away a facemask this morning - realized it had a use by date of spring 11... bit past it's best!
