OK. First of hopefully many small steps to get this challenge back into a ship shape state...

Firstly, there's been a few new requests to join. I've allocated as per below and PM'd each of you with details / just to confirm you still want to join as it's been a while:

    154. snappybadger.Reduce my mortgage from £120,693 to £84,000.
    155. kateyliz. Build up my savings from £0 to £2,000.
    156. uropachild. Reduce my mortgage from £85,447 to £50,000.

If you can supply a balance as of chart 01/02 dates, I'll add back in as of that point in time.

@debtfreewannabeRnR - you posted a chart 02 update, yet I can't seem to locate a registration number for you. I've sent you a PM asking you to confirm you want to join.

Did anyone spot that MSE Andrea posted a comment at the top of post #1 on 29/08/13 ? Just re-checked and details now "lost" as it's showing me as last updated now...

  • Last post for this evening - more to follow tomorrow.

In the registration form, there's the chance to supply a link to a diary. Many of you have done so already, but I've managed to miss a few people out when adding them to post #1.

So, I've just spend a while going through the registration details and attempted to fish out anyone I have missed. I've just added diary links for:

    39. MuffinTops. Completely clear my £62,000 mortgage.
    62. bownyboy. Reduce my mortgage from £125,00 to £68,000.
    72. Matt The Chippy. Reduce my mortgage from £93,000 to £70,000.
    93. I want a baby. Reduce my mortgage from £97,500 to £84,000.
    94. Southernman. Reduce my mortgage from £82,000 to £60,000.
    105. Mrs Money Penny. Reduce my mortgage from £89,220 to £50,000.
    146. PaddyPaws. Reduce my mortgage from £61,274 to £40,000.
    147. egon. Reduce my mortgage from €215,156 to €200,000.
    153. drinkduffbeers. Completely clear my £47,000 mortgage.

If I've still missed you off, them if you could send me a PM with:
    • MFiT-T3 registration number
    • Diary link
then I'll add to post #1. Easier than filtering through the update data. I'll make sure I add them in the first place in future :o

    Thanks,
    Financial Bliss.

  • Hi - I "think" I've submitted my update but google docs seemed to behaving strangely, so thought I'd post it here too incase it hasn't gone through. Current balance is at £82,000. Many Thanks, L :)

    I'm number 141.

Your submission isn't in the UpdateData section. I would suggest you give it another go.

I'm declaring a balance of £183,101 for update three, which is a reduction of £3268 (or 8.9% of target) for the MFiT-T3 so far.

At first sight that feels a bit rubbish as it's only £33 less than my first update, and a net increase of £2176 since my second, but since then i've remortgaged from 4.99% to 2.6% fixed for five years with early redemption fees dropping me back to £188,500 at the end of June (£2k higher than at the start of the challenge :( ). Since then i've been bashing away at the mortgage and have chopped almost £5.5k off in the last three months, so going much better :)

I'll be deep in the red for the next year or more, but then the benefits of the remortgage really start to kick in and if all goes to plan I should be well ahead of where I would have been by the end :D
