I'm back, had such a busy few months so sorry I missed update 2. Been OPing lots though mortgage balance now is 91379 which I am hoping puts me in the green? Knocked just over 6k off in 9 months, quite pleased with that given I am a sahm!
I have filled the update form in & await the new chart! X
Well done everyone x2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.
Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(0 -
Hi everyone,
We have done some sums and should actually have £20k outstanding at the end of the challenge, but I won't complain if that is our mortgage balance as it is much better than when we started. We are OPing £500 a month as we decreased our term drastically but can't make any further OP till the mortgage ends in July 2014 due to the penalty. I can't wait!
We have both set up regular saving accounts to increase some interest but it is frustrating that I can't just make OPs as and when I want
Keep ploughing away everyone!Debt Free - done

ISA #1 came to the end of its bonus rate period so, as planned, I've dumped it into the mortgage. Should be looking very green now. :-)MFiT-T3 #149: {Q4/14} (£46,447)-->(£0) ~ +£46,447=100%

Thanks black taxi, I did see that bit, but it asks me to sign in and I don't have a google account. It also automatically fills in my email address that I use for this site, but that is a hotmail account.
