Banned from ordering @boots.com?

Boots don't have to give you a reason, in the same way a landlord can bar you from his pub. Boots can choose who they sell to or not.
Way back in Post #4 I suggested the ban may be to do with Boots believing you to be trading and the thread now seems to confirm this. It matters not whether you think you are trading or not, all that matters is that Boots thinks you are.
Write to them by all means, but they don't have to give a reason and even if they did accept they made a mistake and let you back, they will be watching you like a hawk - who wants that hassle?
You've already decided not to shop there, so why give yourself the stress of prolonging it, getting fobbed off, you know why you got banned, why get it in writing, what are you going to do with it, sue them? Of course not, so why bother writing?
Some battles aren't meant to be won Pat, use a different delivery address or get a friend to make the purchases if you still want to buy Boots stuff, there's more than one way to skin a cat as they say.
I really respect you as a poster on here jason, your posts are always balanced and full of common sense.
I do believe that you're absolutely right in what you have said above.
I need to draw a line and move on from this, believe me i never thought i would cause this much trouble, nor did i want to.
I no longer want to shop with boots anyway, as ive stated earlier, plenty of other places to spend my money.
Thanks for your reply.
Note to self, really must take more of the posters on here with a pinch of salt:)Your greatness is measured by your kindness; your education and intellect by your modesty; your ignorance is betrayed by your suspicions and prejudices, and your real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance you have for others.

I don't believe you will be able to force them into telling you why they have banned you.
You may have to pay a fee (£10, maybe?) to get them to give you this data.
At one point in this discussion I thought this would have been a worthwhile way to proceed. If Boots have made a mistake (e.g. they believe a neighbour's orders are also for you) then this might show it up.
But as you have since stated that you can see why they think you are a trader then I don't think there is much to be gained from the raw data.
Either get them to look in to it again (as they have suggested) and give them reasons as to why you have shopped like you have or give it up as a bad job.0 -
Given the scale of tax avoidance going on at Boots (all of which reduces the money available to pay for health, education etc and increases the tax burden on the rest of us), it's a bit rich for Boots to be taking any kind of moral stance!
"Pharmacy giant Alliance Boots has escaped paying about £500million in tax through a complex arrangement of companies and debt since it was taken private five years ago.
Boots paid £59million in corporation tax last year on profits of £637 million. That is about a third the rate of tax paid by similar companies such as Tesco and Marks & Spencer.
Before exceptional items and debt repayments are included, the company estimates it makes more than £1billion a year.
The group was originally formed out of three businesses, two of which – Unichem and Boots – were based in Britain. However, following the takeover of stock market-listed Alliance Boots by Italian businessman Stefano Pessina, his partner Ornella Barra and US private equity giant KKR, the headquarters were moved offshore.
The parent company, AB Acquisitions Holdings – the takeover vehicle set up by Pessina and KKR – is in Gibraltar, a country known for low tax.
The company’s head office address is the small town of Zug in Switzerland, where commodities giant Glencore has its base.
Zug, also a well-known low tax region, has 13,000 registered companies, but a population of only 26,000."

Not that I want to get involved in the arguements which seem to be going on elsewhere on the thread, and not that I don't agree with you that a large pharmacutical company are wrong to shift from paying any/the correctly required tax but I don't think its a moral arguement they appear to be having, its more about not openly allowing competition.
If they assume the OP is trading, they will be supplyling their competition with products with possiby selling loss making products (meaning they lose money when they sell these products whilst watching someone else make money from them). Its not about being right or wrong its about commerce and profit making and a dog eat dog world. Why would they openly allow themselves to lose money at the cost of someone else making money as well as adding to the already growing competative market?
The consideration over moral ethics is not part of this issue and is I guess irrelevent with that arguement. I can see their point from a retail point of view anyway.0 -

I have given them the reasons Jimmy, the same ones as posted on here.
Thats when they said they would be willing to look into it again and i told them not to bother.
As ive stated in my reply back to Jason i no longer want to shop with them so will draw a line under it.
I never wanted to cause this bother.
If you have seen the random post about my 'fictitious (sp)' mother just above you may understand why in hindsight i wish i'd never responded to any questions asked.
But then i would have been found guilty too wouldn't i?
All i have done is try to answer the many questions as honestly as possible.
Do people think i've been up all night looking up symptoms or something?
Lewy Body is quite an obscure condition. If i didn't have a mother suffering from it i would not even know of its existance.Your greatness is measured by your kindness; your education and intellect by your modesty; your ignorance is betrayed by your suspicions and prejudices, and your real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance you have for others.

I'd Personally laugh at them, its pathetic if you're gonna spend that much money and then they just fob you off and not allow you to purchase.0

They could not tell me the reason why so i dont think complaining will do any good.
I think what you said about them still picking up payment details etc is right.
They have told me i can still order in store though which doesnt make a lot of sense to me?
Of course, if you are prepared to spend a few pennies (well £10) you could stick Boots with a Data Protection Act Subject Access Request.....0 -

But the OP can understand why they came to that conclusion anyway, so I'm not sure that either is of importance.0 -
I've been banned today! I'm certainly not bulk buying, only really use it in Dec for presents. I did use it in February this year to buy Anti-Reflux formula for my 2 month old and the delivery was left on my doorstep on a busy street side and needless to say when I got home it was gone
so I had to wait 3 weeks whilst they investigated! I only ordered it as there was a shortage in most places this Feb-March
So I got an email today thanking me for updating my account had if I hadn't updated it then to contact customer service. Worried my account had been hacked I rang only to be told they had deactivated my account as there were issues with my account that didnt meet their requirements!?
It's no great loss as Boots is soooo expensive but it has made me feel like a criminal!0 -

Maybe it's the address rather than you personally, if other people living in your property, or neighbours, have had their orders stolen too, then they may have blacklisted your address.
Still the same result for you, as you can't order, buy maybe it's not personal.0
