If they published the fact that, for example, buying 50 perfumes in a 3 month period would get you banned then people would know to stop at buying 49 perfumes before waiting until the three months were up.
It would be like a bank making it common knowledge that deposits under £10,000 wouldn't be considered in terms of money laundering. All the fraudsters would start making multiple deposits of £9,000.
I don't think that there are hard and fast rules about what constitutes a trader and what doesn't. I think it is just an idea that you get when looking at a customer's history.
If you have been trading this stuff then you've been caught out. They don't have to explain to you how you have been caught out and you don't need them to explain this to you as they are right.
If you haven't been trading but can see why they might think you have been then again you don't need them to explain to you as you already, really, know the answer. Up to you if you want to pursue it or not. You could demonstrate to them how you needed the items that you bought. If you are not a trader but actually a really good, loyal customer to Boots then it is in both of your interests to get this sorted out. They may be interested or they may not. Worth a try, if it is important to you.0 -

Although some people on here wont believe it, no, i dont have an ebay account.
Thanks for your very decent contribution:)
Don't have an eBay account? Really? A few months back you claimed you were an eBay seller and your family relied on your eBay sales.

If you make more than £5000 per tax year by eBaying stuff then under HMRC rules you are supposed to pay Capital Gains Tax.0

I have very fair skin so I use loads in summer and on holiday as I can burn after just a few minutes in the sun without any.
What a hypocrite you are.Your greatness is measured by your kindness; your education and intellect by your modesty; your ignorance is betrayed by your suspicions and prejudices, and your real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance you have for others.

For your information, severe PMT does come under the Equality Act, it is deemed a disability. Why don't you ask her - "Hello mum, I've been online making fun out of another disabled person" - let us know her response.
My mother quite agrees with my view that if someone can post on a forum they are responsible for their actions, disability and mental health problems are not an excuse for rudeness and uncalled for nastiness.
My mother takes medication to control her lewy body ( causes the person to hallucinate and see things they believe are real)
When she has a really bad attack she says things that she cant help. But then again she wouldnt be capable of posting on a forum either.
Infact everyone ive spoken to in the 'real world' about this agrees with me.
We also agree that mental health problems can make you want to lash out, but most people really do apologise after if they didnt intend to hurt someone.
So i stand by my view.
If someone with mental health problems came up and stabbed me in the street i would understand thats not a rational thing to do and they couldnt help their actions.
Someone posting with complete lucidity on a forum KNOWS exactly what they are doing.
Get real.Your greatness is measured by your kindness; your education and intellect by your modesty; your ignorance is betrayed by your suspicions and prejudices, and your real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance you have for others.

By your reasoning and buying 24 bottles of suntan lotion you must have an ebay account too.
My husband now works 7 days a week, he did not have work for months so yes, we got by on ebay.
That does not mean i was selling boots stuff on there.
We got our ebay stuff from quite legitimate wholesale suppliers.
It actually took a lot of work, research and effort to find these.Your greatness is measured by your kindness; your education and intellect by your modesty; your ignorance is betrayed by your suspicions and prejudices, and your real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance you have for others.

So, Pat, are you going to explain to Boots why you bought the amount of stuff that you did?
You may or may not be able to convince people on this thread that you aren't a trader, but that hardly matters.
You yourself can see why Boots thought you were a trader. So they haven't been unreasonable. Likewise the people on this thread aren't being unreasonable in thinking that you are a trader.
But if you are not then you should be able to explain yourself to them.0
