boooo! I have another week!
You could open up a jazz club in your kitchen with the sax players! Always an instrument I fancied playing, it just looks so cool.

Hi everyone. Hurray it's Friday and I broke up today for the Easter hols! :j
My school finished at the ususual time but DD1 and DD2 finished at lunchtime so my parents collected them for me, as DH was at an 'end of term boozy do'.
DD1 is currently having her saxophone lesson in the front room and sounding pretty cool. She did her grade 2 exam this week and isn't bad for a 10 year old. DD2 who is 6, has already told us that she also wants to learn to play it and as DH is also learning the tenor sax we could end up with 3 of them in the house!
Tonight is lazy tea night and it will be pizza and chips (not hm). I will catch up on my OS starting tomorrow as I have a bunch of very ripe bananas to turn into banana muffins.
Have a great evening.0 -
Hi to everyone,
Have had an enjoyable day, sorting out stuff for ebay and the local church bell appeal. Have also made some yummy chocolate banana custard, by using up a pack of dried custard, added hot choc mix to it (about 4/5 heaped teaspoons), added water as directed (on custard packet), and mixed in 4 chopped up bananas. Put them into some dishes into the fridge to set, and topped with some bits of choc and squirty cream:D . Very nice..
Hope everyone else is having a good start to the weekend, and hugs to those who need them. Powie ..A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0 -
Evening all. Sorry not been usual active self on forum lately, have been extremely busy with sorting things at school, several appointments, sister moving, car repairs etc etc. Good news is total in this morning and we raised over £300 at the school fayre so over the moon with that
Was organised very last minute, they had never done an Easter Fayre before until some of us parents suggested it.
Kids broke up for hols today, I'm actually looking forward to the no chaos on a morning trying to get boys clothes on them, getting them down there etc then the calls most days to say DS1 having bad day etc. DS1 won second place in the egg competiton, he decided to do his head teacher 'Because he's bald and that's easy' - his words. DS2 miffed as he didn't win, bad looser unfortunately. I did point out he won last year and his brother didn't but he's still in a huff.
Car has passed it's MOT this week, have also helped sister move, they (sis and her DP) have been working like troopers and in a few days have decorated all the rooms apart from kitchen which is livable for now and have all carpets and other flooring down, wish I had their motivation.
Hoping to get the tip which we used to call a garden sorted this week. Not had time lately to do it and the windy weather has blown most things about and it's a mess of piled up things. Possibly get some planters for DS2s plants, have got some herbs that are thankfully starting to grow. Need to empty the pond and clean that out too, get some sort of mesh to go over it. We built it at the end of last year so it was ready for this year, but leaving it uncovered it's now full of water, green slime and rubbish that has blown in the garden YUK!!
Hope everyone is well, hugs to those who need/want one..One day I might be more organised...........

Evening folks,
Sorry I haven't posted for a while - been mad busy at work - have made almost 300 uplighters in a week (most of which were bloody awkward and wanted 13A plugs!!) AND spent Monday on a hire job, as well as a few other bits and bobs. Phew!! Glad I did it all though - my boss was particularly negative and said I wouldnt manage it...it was nice to prove him wrong twice (maybe he was just saying that to challenge/motivate me)
Anyway, aside from that, not much going on. Cleaned out my fridge/defrosted the particularly iced up freezer this week. Going shopping for boots this weekend - have to go to the shop and actually try some on to see what size to get. Am very excited.
I also thought I would spring clean the flat over Easter weekend. Hmm...thats about it really.
Hugs to all those that need them and woot woot for those with good news - sorry, I have been reading the threads but can't remember what goes on.
Have a good one :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hiya all,
Better late than never so howdy everyone.I think the last time I posted was Wed night after I got home from bingo with Aunty J. Well during the night she got up to use the loo and collapsed. The guy in the underneath flat her yells around 5am and got the ambulance. She's in hospital now and on the road to recovery. They won't know until the tests come back what caused it but she's back in form. She was complaining about the food this arv so that's a good sign she's on the mend.
I posted DGS gift today, did some grocery shopping and put the car in for a service. DH has the beginning of man flu  so a enjoyable weekend to look forward to.
I decided to buy some butterscotch angel whip. Ive never tasted it but have heard it being discussed here. Don't have it in Oz. Hope's it yummy.
Well off to have a surf and then write some emails to family back home. Have a good night everyone & (((((hugs)))))) to all. ByeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Evening everyone,
Aussie it does seem peculiar having you in the same time zoneHope you're enjoying it over here apart from poorly Aunty J.
Well, I didn't get round to making my Easter garden, will have to make it a project for the weekend. May allow Dd to help if she's good
I did make a new cake recipe which was a bit of a success. It was one I jotted down from here (of course). I didn't jot down who posted it but thanks whoever it was. It was an eggless cake made with a pot of yogurt +3 pots of S.R flour,1 of sugar and 1 of oil + a tsp baking powder. I added some coconut, then at the last minute I noticed some leftover pineapple in the fridge that had turned out to be a bit tasteless. I spread some butter over the bottom of the tin, sprinkled it with Demerara, put the pineapple in then the cake mixture - pineapple upside down cakeI didn't have any cooking instructions so I guessed at 170 for about an hour and it came out OK.

Rzl, I don't know how you have the strength to ever resist all those food stalls at Borough Market! I was overwhelmed with the choice. If I worked nearby, I'd be eating there every Thursday and Friday lunchtime I think.0
