    Hi
Back from school, and I saw the mum of the boy who threw the glass at DD yesterday, one of the dad's had to pull me away, as I was going at her like a woodpecker! Lucky I kept me cool and dint 'lamp her one! (all though it was tempting) but I knew I'd be the one in trouble then

Just warned her "im after her son, if he wants to pick on someone younger & little, then I'll do the same!" never mentioned the police, let that be be a surprise. Grrrrr

Right, try and calm down before work now!

    Have a great day!

Good luck at the dentist Snowy! I am going to dentist myself this afternoon as I am in pain again! Think it could be an abcess again so wish me luck!

Great to see you back Ivyleaf!

Math - enjoy your break at the coast!

It is pouring with rain here so indoor jobs only today - the ironing pile is calling!

Tulips are still looking good so that internet lesson worked! Normally have wilted flowers by the second day!:o

Morning everyone, what a lot there is going on!

Hope those going away (PenPin, Math) have a lovely holiday, the weather WILL cheer up. Good to hear that things went "well" (as well as they can in the circu, stances) DLB, and fingers crossed that it carries on that way.

Lambabana, I was going to suggest you invite your inlaws round for a meal - but I see Charlie's Mum already made that suggestion.

UW£ - you poor FiL. Not only cancer, but breast cancer. I can imagine that he has had to say "yes a bloke" every time. Hope the final checkup goes OK.

Off to London today. Got tickets for a new Radio4 comedy show recording this evening, so decided to make a day of it. Have booked tickets for the V&A Surrealism exhibition, may pop in to the Science Museum next door, and will be checking out Borough Market for the first time this afternoon. Will take a small cool bag to keep any purchases fresh til we get home.

    Have a good day everyone

Working from home on a friday = nil motivation! Unfortunately it's not an entire working from home day, as I have a meeting in Manchester at 3pm this afternoon!!! What was I thinking? I think I'll go on the train as trying to get out of Manchester by car on a friday afternoon is a suicide mission.
I'm waiting for my new bureau/bookcase for the dining room to be delivered this morning; it's from a fab place called the 1950's furniture warehouse - full of funky art deco drinks cabinets & melamine kitchen units!
I was also expecting my parents to drop in for breakfast on their way home from the airport, but according to the manchester airport website they won't be landing until 10.30 tonight instead. Oops.......
Must do some washing/drying etc at some point, but we're out at a work do tonight, so at least no cooking required today.
Ivyleaf - glad you had a good time, I'm v jealous!
MATH - have fun at the coast
Scuzz - keep working on that payrise. I had to battle hard for mine, but I got there in the end
    Moggins - good for you!
Penny Pincher - have a lovely time ('spect you're on the road already...)

love & hugs to everyone I've forgotten, and all those who follow.

    Morning :hello:

Went to colleague's leaving do last night and all my good intentions went to pot! You know, about going home early, sober, not out of pocket, and in time to do some cooking... I spent £10 on drinks and will now be spending another £5 today on lunch as I didn't cook any :o Mind you, I could buy lunch for as little as £1 or so for an egg sandwich, but it is a shame to work so near Borough Market and not treat myself every now and again :D Plus I've had a not too busy week and am currently running well under budget even after splashing out last night :j

I am really sad that my colleague is leaving. I like and respect him more than pretty much anybody else I work with, and he has been a source of much moral support in the past too! Anyway, he is going on to bigger and better things.

I didn't sleep well last night, I had a few weird dreams (it's true what they say about eating cheese before bed! And the alcohol probably didn't help!) and woke not long after 5am with indigestion  Makes a change from oversleeping, I suppose! And TBH I feel more "awake" this morning than any other day this week!

Tonight, mercifully, is a night in - at least it will be once I've spent an hour or so at the charity project I have started helping with. I don't think I have any particular plans for the weekend, either, other than church on Sunday :j :j

My mum has had a fantastic fortnight. She has been staying with my dad (they get on far better now than they did when they were married :D:confused:) and looking for both a job and a (temporary) home, to enable her to move back to the South East. Anyway, on Tuesday she got offered a job - for £2k more than she expected (she works in Payroll) - and yesterday she found a rental property which will let her live there with her dog and two cats :j :j :j Today she goes back to Durham and on Monday she is handing in her notice to her current employer and preparing to put her house on the market! I am really looking forward to her moving so much closer to me, as it will be lovely to see more of her :j :j

Glad the funeral was so positive dlb
Enjoy your holidays MATH and PP
Hope you manage to get this incident sorted soon Crazychik ((hugs))
Good luck at the  dentist SnowyOwl
moggins you sound really positive and sorted. Good for you :D But have a ((hug)) if you need one anyway.
Welcome back ivyleaf, glad you had a great time, and that new dog sounds lovely :)
    scuzz shame about the payrise!
dannahaz who knows, maybe I will see you in Borough Market and I'll never know it's you! You might recognise the surroundings, they have been used in a lot of recent films including Bridget Jones's Diary and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - useless fact of the day: did you know that as far as film locations go, Bridget Jones lives next door to the Leaky Cauldron? And being a Muggle, she'd never know... :rotfl:

Must be off now, and won't be back until this evening - I have heard my company is cracking down on non work related internet use :( so am going to be a good girl!

Lunch: something yummy and expensive :o
Dinner: sausages and chips (d'you reckon the sausages will still be edible as long as they don't smell off? they've been out of the freezer for a good 3 days but were well within date when I put them in the freezer to begin with.)

    Love Rzl xx

    Morning all.
I'm painting my bathroom pink at the moment, it looks lovely. I had to work hard to convince DH that the colour was right, but I usually get my own way in the end. It's taking me ages because I have to use a paintpad on a stick, my bones won't let me bend and climb, but I get there in the end.
I went to Lidl yesterday and they still have the offer on fresh meat, up to 40% off. I'm a bit choosy with meat but we find the chicken thighs very nice, you get loads for about £1.29. They also have some gorgeous organic carrots. Can't remember the price.
Not much else happening here, I do envy all the people going away. Hope you all have a great time, especially PP and MATH.
Moggins, glad that things are looking up for you. Enjoy!
    Have a nice weekend.
