Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 30 March 07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Hello everyone
Hope you are all well. This is just a quick one to get today's thread started. I've got no news - no news is good news as they say.
I do have a dental appointment this morning, not my favourite destination in the world I must admit. It's a check up though, so fingers crossed it'll be another six months before I have to go back.
Have a fab Friday everyone.

Morning Guys!
Thought I would say a quick goodbye before we leave in an hour or so. Havent had a very good night and managed about 3hrs:eek:    ...we have a 6hr+ drive and I am going to be so knackered! Have taken extra pain killers with me just incase.
Have made up sarnies of leftover gammon and chutney, cheese, cheese and ham and marmite for DD:rolleyes: Have a huge flask to do of coffee and have also sorted crisps, cake and biscuits...so that should keep us fed for a while. If I need something hot on the road, will have a kids meal at the service station for £2.99 or a baked spud, but hopefully I wont need too. The rest of the gammon joint has been put in the freezer for our return.
Will make sure the house is clear before we go and toilet cleaned:D
Anyway, I wont be back till Good Friday, so have a good week and hugs to all.

Good morning all.
Good luck at the dentist Snowy and enjoy yourself PenPin
I wish I wasn't up early enough to post on the first page. My sleeping pattern is shot to pieces at the mo and a half hour nap in front of the six o'clock news has meant I've been walking the floor since 3.
I managed to get quite alot done yesterday.:j
Ended up deep cleaning the kitchen as the grime was showing in the bright sunshine. Did the bathroom too and the general daily tidy up,
OH finally put the stuff back in the loft last night so today I can get back into my office and I need to tackle the paper mountains and prepare the end of month accounts.
Other plans are;
to make a few loaves to take to MIL on Saturday
Nip to Mr T for some bargains
make BBQ chicken salad for tea
do a smidge of ironing ( summer clothes) optimistic eh?
......and i think that's quite enough for one Friday.
Girls have gymnastics in the afternoon and then that's the easter Hols begun.:j
I was supposed to be making a trip in Pink-winged's direction next week but have cried off as I'm not in the best of health atm. So my Dad and Stepmum are coming here instead in 3 weeks. Your loss is my gain eh Pink?
There is a stunning moon outside and I am contemplating taking a photo but alas I fear my neighbours need no more confirmation that I am mad as a box of frogs so I shall resist.Plus it would mean spending half the day on Kyle's photo thread and I don't want to get into trouble with Churchmouse again today.:o
Have a great friday everyone and hugs to those in need.

Crazychik i am so sorry that happened to your DD yesterday. (((hugs))) to you both.0 -

Morning everyone
Yesterday's attempt to get a pay rise was a waste of time. Said I thought I should be paid the same as the others who do the same job as me, but was told that's just life and should get on with it. I'll be applying for something new in the next week or so. Had enough now, so time to move on.
Hoping not to have to work too late today, but we have a 1pm meeting.
Not sure what I'll have for dinner tonight, just had some HM cake for breakfast:rolleyes: . It's freezing in this office, so looks like the heating's been switched off again. I'll go and sort that in a minute
Rubbish has been put out for the dustmen. Off to Brighton tomorrow for a bridesmaid dress fitting, then working on Sunday.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Morning all!
Penny-Pincher are you a member of the AA? you get some money off meals in MOTO service stations if you show your membership card apparently (something I only found out recently as for the first time I actually read the member magazine they sent me! I think it's still in effect)
Hope everyone has a great day! It is Friday so at least for me that means the end of my working week (appologies to anyone who does work weekends) and I'm hoping for a lazy day today because I've had a rubbish week and can't be botheredOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Good morning everyone,
PP and Jockettuk - hope you have lovley holidays.
Well, its our last day at school today as well, so although i will still be up early next week (im working until next Thursday, when i have just over a week off HURRAH) it will be lovely to have my 2 home with me!!!
I have 2 LOs here today, and we are going to attempt to make Easter chicks, so that should be interesting!!! Its been raining overnight, so not sure if we will be walking to school yet, its still to dark outside to see what its doing.
Might do some baking later as well, and we will also be having fish for dinner tonight, with jacket potatoes.
Right, going to finish my cuppa and have a browse before the LOs get here,
Have a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Apparently last night on the phone to his mum my bf very proudly told her what we're spending on food now, she accused us of not eating properly  I'm certain they spend a fortune on food, get all "finest" ranges and she gets every supposedly time saving cleaning chemical going...I know she thinks I don't look after her son properly (as if he can't look after himself anyway!) and this just adds to her belief in that. Only a few more days off and then back to work. It's a bit annoying having to work over easter and yet having th week before off. One of those use it or lose it things with leave before April 1.
Expensive w/end ahead. 2 kid's birthdays, Car tax and some other stuff. Oh £170 oil bill for heating. Thankyou for VISA!
School hols today, so half day for the kids and then, 2 weeks of I'm bored!
Well hope you all have a nice day... Cheers.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
 Morning all,
Enjoy your hols PP
Last day of term for my lot too, 2 weeks off - oh joy  Actually they're not that bad bless them, I just like having the house to myself for part of the day at least. I shall be making the most of today and enjoying the peace and quiet. I might make an Easter garden (moss, small flowering plants, big stone for the tomb etc) for the kids in a big terracotta dish that I've got. I did it a few years ago and it went down well, they still remind me of it.
I've also got masses of washing to do because I didn't do any yesterday - honestly, you miss one day and it takes forever to get back on track.
Breakfast
Porridge and toast for the Thriftlings
Scrambled eggs for me when I get back from school
Lunch
packed lunches - pitta pizzas, blueberry muffins, fruit
me - tuna/mackerel sandwich, fruit
Supper
OH at a black tie do in Brum
The rest of us are having spiced fish steaks (from Nigel Slater's Real Fast Food) made with frozen Value cod, served with rice and veg
Happy Friday everybody :beer:0 -
Morning all
Have a good holiday anyone heading off for the elongated Easter break - the weather forecast sounds good after today. Looks fairly damp this morning, so a day shopping and decluttering.
Fancy a nibble for tea, so think I will get a frozen pizza base out of the freezer, and do some oven chips and salad to go with it.
Lambabana, maybe you should invite dfs mother round and feed her all the rubbish you are eating - bet she can't tell any difference from the overpriced stuff she buys !
Have a good day everyone :wave:You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
