Hi everyone! I'm back from NZ! We had a wonderful, if slightly tiring time and are hoping we can go back one day to see the bits we missed - maybe hire a camper van.

I see some people have had some big life changes going on while I've been away (well done, Moggins!) - it's really nice to be back on MSE. We got home on Saturday, but this is the first day I've been up early enough tp post while the thread's still quite short!

Kiwichick - I'm so sorry to read about your nasty accident! Hope everything heals up asap! Thinking of you. (but Im not going to ((HUG)) you as it would hurt!

Oh, and Welcome to the newbiies who've joined the thread while I've been gone.

DLB - I gather your Gran has died - I'm so sorry - but how pleased she'd be that her funeral brought the family back together! (((((((HUGS))))

I wasn't looking forward to cooking again after nearly 4 weeks off, but to my surprise I'm enjoying it! I suppose there's not much chance to be creative on a coach tour! I'd left quite a bit of stuff in the freezer so that lept us going until yesterday, when we had ro go shopping (aaagh) but it wasn't too bad.

I've cleaned the toilet within an inch of its life, as it was painfully obvious DS didn't think of doing it while we were away! I did send him a few helpful text messages, such as "This is a good day to put your towels in a 60 degree wash". When we arrived home, he was washing up and I'm sure it was the first time he'd done it as he wasn't at home that much when we were away.

We've now caught up with our daughters and their families - baby DGS wasn't sure who we were at first, not having seen us for a month, but soon remembered Grandad is always good for a bit of jumping up and down on his lap! LOL! And we discovered that DD1 has adopted a dear little black-and-tan mongrel from Battersea. She's really lovely and gets on very well with DSIL's Guide Dog, who's pleased to have a friend to play with!

Well, as we now have plenty of food in the fridge I suppose i'd better make some sort of attempt at planning this week's meals, and putting the hoover round!

    Have a good day everyone!

dlb onwards & upwards from now on! Glad things went well yesterday. NOw Ive just got take the plunge with my step-mum! lol

Been tossing n turning since 1.50am, blooming sleeping tablet didnt work. Glad its friday!

Police never came round at all last night. Doubt they wont visit till sometime next week! If they let me, I will press charges, as this kid belongs to a family from hell! Mother got 7 boys and cant cope, dad is on disability but spends all day in the gym - if not - gardening. Plus they breed boxer dogs! So you can imagine the kind of household.

DD at a party after school. exOH will have to take her as he has them on a Fri.

    Right off to get organised.
    Catch you later
    Love Emma xxx

    Morning all!!

My second day of true OS - I am on a bit of a 'clearing out the wardrobe' mission today - petrified that the amount of stuff in there may bury me very quickly (I'm a massive hoarder!!). Will sort out bits to ebay/freecycle/charity shop - a bit of a declutter is a great feeling I think.

I hope everyone has a great friday whatever they are doing :A

Hi Y'all, Damp and dull here!

I'm not planning too much to do today.

    To Do:
    Groom & de-flea the cats
    Clean out the DW
    Clean out the fridge
    Water house plants
    Pack the car

I'm gonna make my customary picnic for the MATHLETTS to eat on the way to the coast and we can share a jumbo bag of chips later.

I'm away for two weeks and then have 2/3 weeks work at the Borough Council. I have just enough time to drop the MATHLETTS at school on the way there and pick them up on the way back. I'm thinking those few weeks are gonna be megga busy, but the money I earn will (hopefully) pay for the outside of the house to be painted.

Upshot being that although I will pop on to OS when I can I probably won't be posting much. Don't think I've forgotten y'all - I'LL BE BACK:rotfl:

Nice to see ya back Ivyleaf

We have a huge Eater Garden in church every year Thriftlady. For anyone who hasn't sean one they are the Easter equivelant of a Nativity Scene.

Glad everything went as well as could be expected yesterday DLB

    Have a good day

Oooooh I forgot to add I am on strike :D I am doing nothing bar the very essential bits and pieces so the house resembles the local tip! The week he moves out the house will be turned completely around and I may even paint my living room red again so I am not bothering with anything! As I can now clean at any time of the day or night and not have to worry about his stupid schedule I don't give a monkeys. I'm also not being very OS about cooking either :D

  • Morning all.

just a quick post before I,m off to college. (booorrring) then I've got to pop in to our local eatery to pay a deposit for a meal next Saturday. We are taking my FIL out to celebrate (fingers crossed), coz today he has his last cancer check up after having breast cancer (yes a bloke) 5 years ago. His appointment is at 10.30 so I'll have to wait til I get back to phone him to see how its gone.

To all of you going away......Enjoy (lucky so and so's)
To all having to stay at home....never mind, the weather is hopefully going to be nice.
And Snowy... good luck at the dentist. I haven't been for about 30 years coz I'm terrified.
    Enjoy your day folks.
    Useless x;)

Wow Moggins, you really are rebelling, good for you. One thing I really envy you for is complete control of the remote for the telly - my OH is lovely, but when he comes in at night, the first thing he does is change channels

    Morning everyone

Today is my last day at work, finally. I am feeling sad because I will miss people, scared because I have now got to produce money from thin air (that's how it feels sometimes anyway) but generally pleased that on Monday I can move on.

Last night I made weetabix brownies and celebration brownies to bring into work today. Some seem to have gone AWOL  :o:D

Leaving do tonight, a joint one with 2 other colleagues that are leaving too. I intend to get plastered :D

Snowy - Hope dentist goes ok.

PennyPincher - Hope you have a brilliant holiday.

Math - Hope you have a fab trip away and work when you get back goes well.

    Have a great Friday all x x x
