I don't think it was rounded up as my recent receipts say 0.130kg, 0.020kg, 0.015kg, 0.673kg.

    RM gradation is:
    0-100g 101-250g 251-500g 501-750g 751-1000g

Seems an amazing coincidence if it was exactly 250gm.

I wish I checked it now, you never think you need to think about these things.

I am trying to find online the weight of the phone and box and everything that I sent back, one place says less than 250grams, but not sure if that includes all the paperwork and all.

The phone is the most heavy bit. No way a package without a phone would have a weight 250g unless it was a very heavy box or you enclosed, say, a stone instead of the phone.

Re the paperwork, A4 sheet is just 5g.

The charger and all sorts of things in the box, extra USB cables and all, there was a little book with multiple languages as well as I remember. Loads of paper work I didn't even look at it all, just sent it all back within the a couple of days as found a better offer elsewhere.

But you are probably right it would be less than 250gram, I think it was rounded up. On my receipt it just says weight 250gram, I think it was less. Too perfect to be exactly 250grams.
  • They are sending me nasty letters saying my credit rating will be affected unless I pay up. What can I do, I sent it back already I am not going to pay for it now, I have bought another one.

You keep informing us about their actions.
    What have you done meanwhile?

    In the worst case scenario
    • Send them a letter demanding a written confirmation that they deny receiving the phone and asking what monetary amount they want instead. Warn them that you have a proof and after paying will sue them for this amount plus fees plus inconvenience.
    • Pay this amount.
    • Sue them through the online small claims court.

My word that's a bit strong isn't it?

Hope the situation can be sorted out the gentlemanly way.

My policy is to try not to pay for something then try and get it back, far better to not pay up to start with. I do not owe them anything, not too bothered about a mark on my credit history I will just make a note of the truth and I have proof I sent it back.

If they set debt collectors on you, it could turn out to be a 6 year stain on your credit record that prevents you from getting any credit for that period. I'd definitely be trying my hardest to get this sorted.
