I like doing pasta bake, so simple and tasty, not good at having lots of different bits on the go at the same time so pasta bake is easy for me
like doing lasagne as well

One of my favs is Shephards pie, made with a large shoulder of lamb, done over night with lamb stock cubes in the slow cooker.
Next day remove and let it cool. Pop the juices in the fridge. Weh the fat has settled on the top remove, then thicken the rest to make the gravy.
Unstring the shoulder of lamb and pull out all the meaty bits...it's amazing froma cheap cut of lamb how much decent meat you can get off it.
Make mash and put in kenwood chef for a good beating...makes it creamy.
Add gravy to meat, place on bottom of dish, top with mash and then sprinkle on grated cheese. Pop in oven and drool until it's done.0 -
I'm cheating a bit as this isn't really a meal, but I get an enormous sense of satisfaction (smugness) every time I take a batch of loaves out of the oven.
In fact any baking has this effect, and now I've got a new oven with 2 lights in it I can watch the muffins etc bake
My favourite meal to cook is probably roast chicken and roast potatoes, followed by chocolate fudge pud.
Making jams and chutneys is very satisfying too.0 -

Sounds delish! how do you make it? I would love to try this!:xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
The things I really enjoy cooking but not for my own pleasure of eating them are normally foods for other people. My OH loves bubble and squeak more than almost any other food (simple creature), when I cook that and he's so delighted that pleases me, especially because it's so easy
I agree with thriftlady that chutneys and jam are satisfying, when they magically set it's a good feeling.
Oh and any impressive puddings, I always look at them and think, wow how did I manage to make that!0 -
It has to be a Sunday Roast for me but I love doing a stew or lasagna too & paella & BBQ....I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0

Casserole, stew or soup - anything that involves peeling and chopping loads of veg because i find it very theraputic lol, plus if i've got soup on the hob i like to stand there stirring it, again very relaxing

I'm with Thriftlady - I love making preserves, just because I love all the jars lined up, the big preserving pan - just the whole thing. I am quite sad though.New year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j0

I love making soups (lots of different kinds) and then having them with freshly made bread. The quickest probably has only 3 ingredients (if you don't count the little bit of butter) - onion, peas and HM chicken stock.0
