try a different browser?
OK Its being blocked by an overzealous work - will have to leave it until tonight
Thanks0 -
I am clicking on the blue link itself ( AMIBOOT.ROM for MS-7366 Ver: 2.2) - unless it is being blocked by work - I get a "problem loading page" error !
I have found another link on Medions site (http://www.medion.com/gb/service/_lightbox/treiber.php?stxt=2.2) which I think should work but is an exe file - so will not be bootable ???
Thinking about it - that was the file that I tried originally and caused the problem in the first place ....
Just imagine my hands around your neck....
What job is it that you do? You seem to be in a bit of a jumble.
First of all, that is not the BIOS you used in the first place. If you had, you would not be here now....
That is the right BIOS, you used the wrong BIOS.
If fact you can use that file now, by downloading it, running it, which will extract the folders within and then renaming the 1024kb file within either of the folders to AMIBOOT.ROM. Once done, drag that file to the floppy.0 -

I didn't mean that I used your file previously
I meant that I used the one on Medions website originally - the exe file (which would not run as a boot file anyway)
As for work - you really don't want to know !!
And - as I thought - work had blocked the download - I have it now at home and am going to be trying it in about an hour - if you listen carefully you may hear me either scream or emit a loud yelp of delight !!0 -

I know what you meant.
Check your original .exe link in your first post and your .exe link in post #70.
They are not the same. That's where you went wrong in the first place.
You should have installed the one in post #70, but instead you attempted and failed(by design) to install the one in post #1.
With me now?
Good luck.0 -

Yes I am - and unfortunately - my BIOS is soOoo gone, that the floppy drive is not detected (with or without a disk in it) - so it's looking as if a replacement MoBo is necessary ??
Unless, something that I read about resetting / defaulting the BIOS by setting a jumper or shorting two contacts works ??
I can't see any jumpers or any similar on my MoBo......0 -
I have ordered a new MoBo from Novatech for less than £40 delivered - so thanks for all your advice0

Did you detach everything but the CPU, RAM and Floppy?
Is the Floppy drive the Master/Primary?
Have a look at the Manual if you need help with settings.
Going travelling, so a bit busy.0 -

TOG
I would say that the PSU had gone - if it wasn't for the CPU fan that turns !!
The rest of the PC is dead as a doughnut - no lights/ no breathing / no nothing...
The floppy doesn't even attempt to turn !!
My replacement MoBo has arrived - that should, hopefully, sort it ..... !!! ....
£36 inc vat for an MSI G41M-P28 - Inc on board graphics and audio - I used to worry about the quality of on-board graphics and used to insist on seperate cards - but now I just want my PC back ....0
