BIOS dead

My 3 year old MEDION quad core PC has been pretty reliable up until recently - it started to cut out for no good reason..
So - this afternoon - I decided to update the BIOS to the latest available (it was on a 4 year old BIOS (2008 date) - I downloaded the file from http://www.medion.com/gb/service/_lightbox/treiber_details.php?did=8140 and ran the bat file - it rebooted and just sat there (with the fan turning) - no lights on - no signs off any life - could someone tell me whether my PC is recoverable - ie can I restore the old BIOS ?
Or am I being too impatient - how long should I wait for ?
I am not able to access the BIOS by pressing any keys either........

Did you clear the CMOS using the clear CMOS jumper?
Edit: The BIOS was not the source of the cutting out...0 -
BIOS flashing in Windows is very risky. If clearing CMOS doesn't work you could try taking out then refit the cmos battery.604!0

No - I did not - the instructions didn't say to do this
The cause was not heat related - I tried the BIOS as a last resort.......0 -
If I can borrow a USB floppy drive - is it not possible to boot on this with and reinstate the old BIOS ?
The problem being that the new BIOS is not accessible - so how do I change the boot order ?0 -

If I remove the BIOS battery for a couple of hours - will the original BIOS be reinstated ?
Where is it held then ?0 -
bios is programmed onto a chip on the motherboard. If you've had a bad flash you'll have to replace the motherboard.604!0

Your Extracted BIOS link doesn't seem to work but in the BIOS Recovery there is an interesting link concerning linux. clickyPeel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. Peer at your baby's eyes for them to reflect back just people-throw away your flags and religious symbols...0

It does. You need to read the whole post. You'll need to insert an i where the asterisk lies, after clicking on the link
Should add for the OP that it is an AMI BIOS, in the case of confusion.0
