don't know where moneys come from

Hi all Ive been on IR ESA for about 4 years in April this year I had my ESA suspended and all payments stop. on the Th of this month money has started going back into my bank first £806 on my back statement it comes up "no further information" when i rang the bank they said it was from DWP then a few days later i got £230 paid into my bank this time on the statement it showed my NI number and then DWP then JSA. And then every fortnight since. Not sure what these payments were I went into my local job center. He looked up on my file and said that no payments had been paid to me since April. So where is this money coming from will I have to pay it back if i was not supposed to get it or will i be able to keep it as its there fault.

  • Call the BDC and ask to speak to a supervisor. If it is a mistake you will have to pay it back, it is the taxpayers money. Why would you think otherwise?

If it is right it will be CB ESA so it wont come from the tax payers pocket so dont worry your little self about that.
Done that all they told me was that my file had been rebuilt on the 15th but know money has been paid

Why was the ESA suspended in the first place.
Why has it been rebuilt? if it has gone clerical payments go out via another computer and wouldn't show on Legacy the main system.
The man on the desk wouldn't know this

That is not the same as speaking to a supervisor at the BDC - all the frontline advisor can tell you is what the system says, not why it does not say something.

CB ESA comes from the taxpayer - your previous NI payments do not sit in a savings account waiting for you to claim!

ESA may or may not be being incorrectly paid - you have not provided enough information to say.
JSA is certainly not being correctly paid.

What reason was given for the benefit suspension? One presumes there was a letter of explanation?
Were there contact details on that letter - if so, you could use them to check what is happening?

    Your posts are confused.
If you have 'been recieving IB-ESA for 4 years', you are certainly not entitled to CB-ESA, or CB-JSA.
If you have savings of over 16K, unless you came into these suddenly, you will have had a considerable overpayment while these savings built up.
