BT 2013 price increases

When there is a problem that needs sorting, users will find B.T. Sheffield (Plusnet) a very bad little company. most information pages are either wrong or out of date, which when added to their chaotic systems doesn't give their customer services a chance of a decent service. Also, this "Honest" company employ some very shifty methods, which they refuse to alter no matter how many customers they upset.
To see one example, check out the 'PN Market 2 Charges' thread in the thinkbroadband Plusnet forum. Search for 41483710 -
Sorry to say but we have always been BT customers for the phone side of things, internet is with Sky, just the internet though not the TV. We use the landlines for more or less 90% of all our calls, yes we have mobiles but don't use them for calls a great deal, its an age thing !!!.
With BT yet again hiking up the costs i think we may look at moving the phone line and calls to Sky, don't want to change the ISP, have looked into it and Sky for me offer the best service. One thing which puzzles me is this BT contract breaking thing, we have been with BT for ever, are you saying they will fine me if i move my phone over to Sky, i don't ever remember any contract or tied in clause with BT.0 -
OK, so you can still choose from any of the BT resellers: Plusnet, Zen, Eclipse...and many more.
If you want the cheapest package, then Plusnet Value is likely to be the one, even on a Market 1 exchange @ £12.99pm after 3 months , but it comes with a 10GB monthly cap, which may not suit you. And Quidco cashback is available.
I didn't know Eclipse was selling BT.I'm with them for past 6 years and been very good, but of late, as I watch online Lovefilm, their FUP is getting on my nerves as they cut the speed after 20GB:mad:(though my tariff is "unlimited").
I'm thinking PLUSNET(phone+broadband) 60GB 12 months half price @£5.47.(Plus £38 quidco/Topcashback).Also effective £9.49pm line rental if you pay 1 year upfront. Works out just £15 per month for everything:D
Got very mixed reviews.Are they good?0 -

I had to escape the evil clutches of T.T. when they grabbed hold of Tiscali.
I jumped, for my sanity to BT for LR/calls and added O2 BB.
O2 won't give me LR as I don't meet their credit criteria, even though I have paid O2 for a mobile phone contract nearly 9 years.0 -
Can I then cancel my BT contract and switch to, for example, Sky?
I have a BT phoneline and BT broadband and I'd want to switch the whole thing.0 -

You are always in contract: no contract, no service. Whether you are still in mimimum term will depend what tariff you last took out and when. If you are still in minimum term, an ETC will be charged, unless you reject the price increase within 10 days of notification. No free lunch, and no free laptop
