Got there in the end though and OH is less moany now. He got bored so was trying on sunglasses and I said he could have them for 12p if he did one of the toiletry shops for me.My sums were right and it did come to 12p but I did make a slight fool of myself when he gave me 6 coupons back and said he couldnt scan anymore, that will be £12. I asked why and he said if I scan anymore we'll have to give you money! It was then I realised he had actually said 12p and I had given him some healthcare coupons by accident.
I'd not been to him before so was slightly worried but all ok in the end.
My £16.20 of healthcare and £24.02 of toiletries came to £1.71
I also put £16.32 of healthcare (6 zirtek) and £24.09 toiletries in my mums weekly shop which took an extra £5 off with vouchers.
All in all very pleased with today but quite sad that theres no more free toiletries. All I have left now is get active, £2 T+B and one set of blues
Roll on more vouchers!!
12p that made me giggle:rotfl:
never happy r we, want to pay less and less everytime;)0 -
Leadhead - u r so brave that u actually talked to managers/ supervisors about couponing. i wouldn't even dare to go near them.
Never had cause to actually speak to a manager about couponing, spoken to many(even the actual store managers not just middlemen) when RandRing.
I pick which supervisors, I choose to speak to, depending on whether I want their response or the stores policy.....
One told me today that all "untrained SA's" accept all coupons, but after training, only accept 50%.....interesting..but a load of rubbish.....
Next time i'll go in and ask him ....."got any new staff".......................lol
I'm at present trying to get a general consensus of opinion from them on what i can hopefully expect from the SS till SA's........Ive a good idea about the SS tills themselves.....its the training the SA's have had i'm trying to discover.Couponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

You could use any other ones like - pampers, the green health/ski ones, daily mail, baby food etc0 -
leadhead i agree with you bout trained/untrained sa even though i have only been sa for 18 months(almost 5 yrs with t####) i consider myself fully trained (they said i was after 2wks:rolleyes: ))i have never been told about only accepting certain% of shop in coupons. all we have benn told is to check coupons for details eg exp date product etc but if in doubt scan it and if its wrong it won't go through.Lead us not into temptation...
just tell us where it is and we'll find it....0 -

I have a copy around in one of my email addresses - I think I know which one out of 12 it could be in. I have had a paper copy in my bag shown it to the supervisor/person refusing my vouchers and they still do not accept them.
The policy is sent out by HO whereas each individual store IMHO has it's own way of interrupting it.

This is the email I received re voucher policy:
Dear Welsh-dragon
Thank you for your email.
I was sorry to learn of the problems that you have encountered trying
to use coupons in our *************** store.
Any coupons, which display the Tesco logo, are Tesco specific. We only
accept these if the products referred to on the coupons are purchased.
This is because we negotiate savings with our suppliers on the
condition that these actual products will be purchased.
With regard to coupons from brand name manufacturers, we are happy to
accept one, even if you have not purchased the product. The coupon must
be in date and Tesco must sell the item. If you present more than one
identical coupon, then you must purchase the same number of products.
This also applies to coupons printed from the Internet. These will only
be accepted at the discretion of the Store Manager.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to explain our policy.
their email address is: customer.service@tesco.co.uk
From my own personal experience, I now try to stay under the radar at all times.
