The policy is sent out by HO whereas each individual store IMHO has it's own way of interrupting it.

Tell me about it! I had a really disappointing Tesco shop today. Luckily, I had some problems using vouchers at this particular store before so knew that it wasn't a voucher-frinedly venue. (Last time I shopped there the SA said that they would only accept one voucher per transaction!) :(

I wouldn't have gone back but I had my first ever till-spit due to expire today and we were out at this particular town at a radio fair/family day out thing. I combined using my till spit with a baby shop (given the triple points promotion) and extra points coupons.

I carefully chose the only young male cashier on in the (small) shop and joined the queue. Unfortunately, a very 'helpful' staff member came over to indicate the completely empty till two places away - with a stereotypical middle-aged cashier! :o I was too embarrassed to say that I'd rather queue so ended up being served by the miserable old cowbag.....

All my points coupons and coupons for items that I'd bought were accepted (with lots of obvious scrutiny). I'd only offered two measly coupons for items I hadn't bought (both expired today). The old bat refused to accept any at all, saying 'you haven't bought those have you?' :o

She didn't even want to try the Tesco Ski vouchers - telling me that I hadn't bought Ski yoghurts. I just acted thick and said that I thought I had. She checked the receipt and then said 'Hmm. I'll just scan one'. :(

The only saving grace was that I hadn't bought anything with a view to using coupons (other than two finest yoghurts that I love) and all my points coupons went through. Came out with 905 points for that shop alone! :T Mind you, I won't be going back to that one again!

oh just came up with a good thort:rolleyes: (he has them now again) are tesco using all these vouchers as a ploy to get us into the store. they obviously have ways ofgetting money back from vouchers (easily from non tesco product) mayb on their part its a gud tax fiddle(any accountants out there???) but at end of day we don't care as we r still getting cheap or free stuff.hope this thread don't dry up when no vouchers about as have really enjoyed reading all the comments they are v funny esp welsh dragon and leadhead wish id found this site monthes ago.

I have/have discussed a theory that Tescos allow it, so the auditors can truthfully inform the authorities that they sell more toiletries than say Boots and more clothes than say Debenhams.............

Threy dont have to justify the word "sell"
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

    or

IMHO....even if you got an email saying they will accept any coupon, it wouldnt sway the decision of supervisors, never mind managers.........and too be honest, depending on your wording, you might just be adding "fuel to the fire"

i agree leadhead tesco r not stoopid:p think they off set the amount of vouchers we use against those that buy the products but never use the vouchers, they didnt get to be the size they are now buy giving away stuff to everyone but as we are in the minority who use the system to our advantage we benefit.:T if u think of how many of the various packs ar printed they have calculated the value of all coupons in these packs how many old dears have packs that they never use in their bags.tesco know exactly what we are doing but is in their interest to keep system going:j :j

In my experience they will just screw the poor supplier and ask them to cover the loss. If whats The supermarket call 'investing in your future', when they ask suppliers to pay for offers/discounts.... I hope Tesco are taking the loss themselves and not passing it on the supplier, cus I would feel a little guilty...well for a second or two!!!
