After 2 sucessful shops I decided to finish off my voucher yesterday evening at 9:30pm...BIG MISTAKE.. There were no young sa's only middle aged ladies and supervisors.
The sa scanned 10 pounds worth of vouchers, refused daily mail book token and was happy (queue starting), until i thought id use a few 50 pointers (I do not usually bother). "I'll just speak to the supervisor" she said and before i could say dont bother, she had gone (queue getting bigger).
He came over and after what seemed like a year and my embrassement getting greater as the time ticked, he looked a the till receipt. "Can't use that many" he said, "we will have to take some off", AHHHHHHHHHH... he then spent ages looking at my receipt (queue huge, embrassment boiling point) and eventually removed 3 x 2 pounds. My usually 1 - 2 pound bill was 15 quid.
Anyway Im not sure if I broke the coupon code, but i spoke to the supervisor as i was leaving and told him I was not happy at being embrassed and wanted a refund and I would shop else where.
So I popped to customer service and explained. I was in the process of getting my money back, when the supervisor appeared again and i begain arguing that if the till accepts the coupons it should be ok and that he had caused me a great deal of embrassment due to his actions and poorly trained staff.
Why oh why didnt i just walk away. I think i except everyting cheap.
Now is there any mileage in this?? i was thinking of complaining to Head office?? or should I just keep a low profile, as we dont want to raise training of poorly trained staff.
All views appreciated, especially Leadhead

But on a positive note i did a carboot and got rid of loads of HB, finished day 250 quid up, cheers to all
For those who have done a Carboot. Have you found you can not get rid of the Nivea shower care? I could not give it away. But the Elvive Shampoo, Plax, Radox sold really well... and why do u ladies only buy shampoo and not conditioner???
Hi, unfortunately couponing is a privelege and not a right, however you could ring HO about his attitude, without mentioning the coupons, but IMHO and from previous posters, Ho will back their staff.
This guy wil probly have forgotton you in a fortnight, so really, "live to fight another day".....
Ive gone to HO for PSP's,PS2's for Moet, meat and phones...and for a manager who called me a fraudster, got all the material items, but no apology for the deformation.
I know its annoying, it really gets my back up......some Tesco staff really need training in CS.......its as if its their pension you are stealing.
Ive had managers refuse me obvious unargueable RandRs.......just because they could.....
I would leave it, as annoying as it is.....
I know this may not be the answer you want (in your anger)Couponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

just been catching up on todays posts - leadhead - when you ask the sa what coupons they will take before taking your stuff out of the trolley - what so you say to them? sounds like a good strategy - i tend to wait until it has all gone through and then take the coupons out at the end - but your way sounds more fail safe.0

Evey couple of months there seems to be a reminder on there about only take 10% of the bill
Hi bigmama, really interesting to have your input.
It does make me laugh though when check out supervisors etc say "10% off only" yet Tesco issue coupons that are £2.50 off a £10 spend on toiletries???
This is 25% off!!!
So if my total shop needed for that day happened to be only £10 worth of toiletries then Tesco is IMO giving out these vouchers to entince people to buy more then refusing to let us use them!"I expect to pass through this world but once. Well I went down to the east midlands this weekend to a niece's 4th birthday party. Thanks to doing a couple of swaps on PTS I had 13 sets of H&B shops, so after the party i forced my sisters and my parents down to tesco and taught them about getting the goods for free, they were amazed and very pleased and we managed to use all 13 sets up, mum and dad were a bit slow picking it up but they got there, so thank you tesco and thank you everyone for all the info and ideas !!!0

I think you'll find most people don't just buy £10 of toiletries so if it's in with more shopping it wouldnt matter anyway. I think the supervisors or team leaders as they are now known!, only pass on what is said to them by managers. Most of the ones in our store are OK, only a couple of miserable ones in the evening0 -
Thebrow how much do you get for elvive at your bootsale please?
I did 1 pound each or any 6 for 5 pounds.
Although an asian lady brought all the pink ones and i let her have em for 25 quid.. she had 35 bottles of mixed HB
I orginally was going to do some for 1 pound and the Elvive/plax for 1.50...but it seems like to much hassle._____________________________________________

I agree.
When it is REALLY busy no one seems to question coupons in my local.
Especially when its nearly clocking off time."I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."
