are you still having problems now - if you want to try and find out the cause, rename hosts, and remove bitdefender if renaming hosts changed nothing

Have renamed host file, no change in IE reloading in sandbox. speed unchanged.

Uninstalled bitdefender just installing Avast now, shall I enable web rep or not? damned thing is installing google chrome, so will have to remove that.

When i rebooted after unistalling bitdefender there was no change in boot up speed.(still staring at a black screen)

i will wait for you tot ell me to do the factory restore-as then i will be offline a while-and i might have to do it tomorrow if needed as it will take at least an hour( need my beauty sleep lol)

chrome was an optional install, but doesn't matter.

disable web rep and avast community

If problems continue, factory restore is easiest.

create the windows disc if you don't have one.

OK, well the issues in IE9 are still happening with the sandbox but not on its own. I will do the factory restore tomorrow then, if I can check back in with you both tomorrow and check everything is OK at that point- shall i install avast, malware bytes, ccleaner and sandboxie again? Thanks guys for all you help so far :)

Are you saying sanboxie is the cause?

factory restore followed by avast/sanboxie/ccleaner is probably simplest, especially as you have some odd entries in the installed program list.

and if you want to avoid the hassle of program/data/reinstalls in future, backup with macrium

Boot up was a bit quicker this morning.

I installed java updates yesterday that seemed to rectify the reload issue in internet explorer-but only if i run it outside the sandbox. I tried uninstalling sandboxie, rebooting and then reinstalling and creating a new sandboxed web browser but it hasnt made any difference. I am now going to do a factory restore. Shall i redo the logs waddler asked me to do once I have done this?

The computer is making that funny noise it makes when you are doing something on it(like a clicking noise) but all i have open is IE.

Just to chuck in my 2p - more for the techies than the OP just now -

All those games and crudware do not look like a system after a factory restore - is it worth playing whack-a-mole or doing a proper flatten and rebuild. A proper F&R takes half a day but is guaranteed, whereas whack-a-mole can take an hour here or there forever for diminishing returns...

    OK...Taken back to factory settings.

All I have done is removed Macafee, Noeton and Bing bar

Installed ccleaner, malware bytes, avast and sandboxie and updated the hosts files.

    Windows updates have run.

Now on bitdefender, it used to have a vulberabiulity scan to check for critical updates for all programmes-how can I do this now as i imagine that some programmes will need updating?

PC running fab now, but it was a week ago-how can i stop the problems recurring please?

    Thanks for bearing with me
