I'm aware of the sale of goods act but don't believe it covers breakages which the [assistant claimed] PC World cover does; it wasn't of any use to me, but many people in this thread have mentioned buying these for their children in which case breakage cover might well coming handy.

My post was intended as a heads up for those who were going to buy it anyway...

  • just got the 64g version for my daughters birthday, very very impressed with it so far while ive been tinkering. she is very adept with grandads ipad but that obviously way out of price range! she will be over the moon with this tablet, that is for sure.

just have a couple of questions, if anyone can help i would be really appreciative.

1 - are there any movie sites (im thinking lovefilm/netflix) that she can use with the tablet, and how do i go about this?

2 - where else can i get ebooks for this tablet? the kobo store seems really expensive!

3 - can i link it to my laptop to put music/movies on it?

    thanks in advance:)

    1. I've tried but there isn't an app. The last thing I was going to try was to visit the site from the browser but I doubt that will work as it requires MS Silverlight.

    2. Ebooks you can download online for free, just google it, then copy paste into the tab!

    3. Of course you can, it just opens up as an external hard drive, just copy paste. Make sure the format is playable though. If it works on the ipad, it will work on the PlayBook. :D

Are these any good for my yr 6 and yr 4 children please. It would be for games mostly (free apps I hope), watching Iplayer, and limited web surfing, thanks all, xxx
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx

  • Hi I bought one yesterday and am impressed far.

Only problem is I want to bluetooth pics from my galaxy note and although I've paired them when I try and send it fails, anyone have one know why? The symbol turns from white to blue but back to white without receiving. As there is no java support I can't use Kies air either :(
  • In reply to rowens101 Question,
I think playbooks bluetooth is only for using with peripherals eg bluetooth keyboard and think I read somewhere that it will not let files to be shared via bluetooth :( due to security worries.

If you do find a way please post on here as I would love to know if it can be done.
