  • I purchased on an I am quite impressed for the price and so is my husband who has an Ipad. Prefers the sound on the playbook. We have now ordered on for one of our children as she wanted a Kobo E-reader and this offers this function for less money and we can put games and films on for her and she can catch up on tv via Iplayer.
  • Just finished the set up. Does anyone know why I can't sync my hotmail a/c?

    Nightmare Charging.

Last night I came home to find a flat playbook. I'd plugged in by usb to the pc the night before but hubby had turned off the pc. So the tablet obviously didn't charge. However, that's not the end of it. The playbook will not charge without enough battery power telling it to charge!?? Software based charging? I had to scour the internet for info on how to bring it back to life as just plugging into mains will not work..

Give it back and get another one!!!
Living off £450 per month is easy...! If you aren't single! :j

Does anyone know if you can read kindle books on the playbook. Daughter wants a kindle fire but the playbook has a bigger memory.
  • In response to Flukes question, Yes can read kindle books IF you down load the Kindle APP. BUT and it's a BIG BUT you will not find the APP on the BlackBerry APP store website :(
However I did find it on the goodereader.com website app page
Don't know why Blackberry or Amazon don't have it on Blackberry official App world site BUT it is possible. If you were after something that works straight out of the box then the answer is no,go with the kindle.
If you are comfortable tinkering/downloading apps then the answer is YES.
    Hope this helps. :)

    Yes to wireless internet.
  • Thanks to everyone on this thread and especially the OP
Finally remembered to tell a friend about this offer as they use Blackberrys for theier business. She was over the moon and rushed to get one. She was so pleasesed and excited she convinced me too even though I don't have a bb. Picked ours up on Thursday and OH set it up and was really impressed with everything about it. Man in currys seemed to know very little and kept on about it not being as good as the ipad. If it hadn't been for this thread we wouldn't have got one. So so chuffed and now I can video chat to my friend too. Even considering getting another so me and other half both have one. Great for storing all our photos and music and freeing up the laptop. Picture quality is excelent and with a hdmi lead we can link it to the tv.

Can see this keeping us occupied for some time. Now considering a bb phone too giving us the internet when we are away from home. So much easier on our eyes compared to our phones.
Anyone have recommendations for a sturdy cover/case ?
    Thanks again everyone :T:T:T:T:T
