Currys informed me that they are not responsible for the warranty of the item and that its solely the manufactures responsibility I always thought that the trader / shop where goods were purchased from were liable for the warranty within the first year please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Curry nonsense.

And don't forget! If you bought it with a Credit Card - not a Debit Card - you have additional protection.
  • Zanderman, sorry for already quoting the quoted.. I did try and read all posts.

Not a referal link per se, however it was found via invisible hand, so they may inject a tracking code.

" Don’t worry, if your product develops a fault within 21 days, we’ll always offer you the choice of an exchange or full refund, provided you have proof of purchase (receipt, delivery note, bank statement)."
They HAVE to fix it for you within 21 days. Because, the product was not fit for purpose. Even up to a year! More even, for a television or a fridge!

miamoo - like any phone or tablet, you need to have the film as a file that it can use. Then I guess the simplest way is to plug the BB into your computer and use it as a USB drive, just copy the film over. If it's on DVD, then you need to rip it first, just like you would with any other device.

FYI I went into a Currys today and the 16 GB one is £109.
TBH, given that you may not be going to install loads of apps on it, there may be no reasonfor going for the larger memory ones.

How does this product fair purely as storage for photos of one's kids? 64g for £129? Plus a few tunes and movies....makes sense to me? Anyone agree/disagree? Think the Nexus only comes in 8g and 16g?
    ==
Edit: Does the Nexus take a memory card?
  • No google Nexus does NOT take a memory card , so limited to 8gb or 16gb depending on the model. Hope this helps someone.
Would have to say I like the feel of Blackberry. Haven't had the chance to hold/use Nexus yet so can't say which is better.

Mine should be with me tomorrow. Will take 48 hours to play with it and report back here. As a power user of Apple's mobile devices running iOS, this should be quite interesting!

    Nightmare Charging.

Last night I came home to find a flat playbook. I'd plugged in by usb to the pc the night before but hubby had turned off the pc. So the tablet obviously didn't charge. However, that's not the end of it. The playbook will not charge without enough battery power telling it to charge!?? Software based charging? I had to scour the internet for info on how to bring it back to life as just plugging into mains will not work.

I didn't notice any large warnings on the product stating do not let battery drain completely or product will not charge.

You have to keep plugging in and unplugging each time the red light goes out (every 8-10 seconds) and after between 6 and 30 attempts it may have enough energy to charge normally and a green light will slowly flash.

Will have to listen out carefully to kids using it now as it will warning beep when low.

Hope this helps anyone that has the same problem.
