Touched up at the doctor's!!

Sitting in doctor's waiting room when I felt a hand on my knee. The man next to me was smiling at me with his hand creeping up my leg!

I shot him my most withering look and turned my back - he put his hand back on my leg. So I snapped "what are you doing, you pervert??"

The man next to him jumped up and apologised - apparently he was the first man's carer as he was mentally disabled.

I felt bad for shouting at the disabled man - who looked totally normal - but the carer wasn't doing his job very well!

I wouldn't feel too bad at shouting at the man - it sounds like he doesn't pay much attention to that anyhow, but he got a free grope, which would make him happy.

All the carer has done is to ensure that he doesn't get carted off to the police station for it.

No need to feel sorry - he has to learn what is inappropriate behaviour.

I know to some people it does sound funny, but it is horrible having that happen to you.

What were you supposed to think? "oh I'll just let this bloke carry on groping me, you never know, he might be disabled even though he doesn't look it.. "

I think I would have had one or two words with the carer as well as him. Chances are, he'll pull a stunt like that with the wrong person and end up in A&E!

Now I'd expect that kind of remark in discussion time, but not here. That's a horrible thing to say. Having a disability does NOT make you a second class citizen.

However, making crass remarks like sevenCL does..............
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I didn't mean it to be horrible, I meant it to be the truth. If someone's condition means they're doing !!!! like this to people they shouldn't be allowed near people. It's good that OP was able to remain calm but if someone touched me in that way I would freak out.

If this person can't be taught better behaviour, he shouldn't be allowed in public. People have a right to be from from violation like this.

    EDIT: What is an AE?
I, too, would have freaked out!

I agree that for his sake as much as anybody else's he needs to be watched better if he's that dysfunctional/disabled.

And you could equally put the boot on the other foot, - for all the groper and his carer know, the OP could have had a disability or mental health problem.

Are you saying he was mentally disabled for touching you up? :D Or did you mean to say he is mentally disabled? :p

Natural reaction I think in the circumstances, he hadn't a pervert sign round his neck, forget about it.

I'd have had something to say to the carer!

They should be more vigilant as he is obviously prone to this type of behaviour!

I don't choose to pay any heed to stupid people and their petty, arbitrary problems with specific words.

So you'd find it acceptable to use the C word and N word then? In a school?
