Neighbours and their kids

My view is that anyone who has concerns about the way children are being treated should report those concerns to social servies, police, NSPCC.
Those agencies will consider the information that has been provided, follow it up as appropriate, and take action if that is necessary.
If you want anonymity, raise the concerns anonymously and/or state that you want to remain anonymous.0 -
How do you know they are physically punishing their children if you do not see it? You only hear it!
When I tell my youngest off she screams like I am murdering her but I am not even touching her let alone smacking her so you cant jump to conclusions.
If you really do think they are beating the children then the NSPCC will pass on your concerns to social services. I suspect they know is you because your the only neighbour who has shown to have a problem with them.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

You only tell your daughter off, the OP can hear what sounds like smacking multiple times and the father has already been led off in handcuffs after 'obviously' beating his wife. The OP sounds like she has a good idea of what smacking sounds like.
The OP hasn't said if any other neighbour have had problems too...?

For all we know, the OP could hear things like 'Please don't hit me again Daddy/Mummy', or similar. Only the OP knows.
But, if anyone ever has genuine suspicions of abuse, then they should report it. The authorities will investigate and decide whether further action is required.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Best ignore it then, eh?
Where exactly did I say that?
If you read my second paragraph you can clearly see I am not telling her to ignore it I am just saying she cant be 100% sure the kids are being hit!Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

She hasn't said she's heard a smacking sound and tbh unless they're in the garden you would not hear a smacking sound just cries. She hasn't bothered to come back and reply to anyone's advice so we do not know what she has heard / saw.
Also just because he beats his wife it does not mean he also hits the children. I know a relative that was beat by her partner several times but he never once hit the children.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
I notice that you mention the children are autistic. Depending whereabouts on the spectrum they are, their behaviours could be extremely challenging. Reasoning with them could also be fruitless as their perceptions of things are very different to that of children without this condition.
They require alot of patience and understanding to be shown. Not to have parents who flip out and inflict violence. I wonder how much support the parents have sought for the children and themselves. Personally if I were witnessing and hearing what you are, with vulnerable children involved, I would call social services. The family could benefit from their help in the long run.
All are autistic. One I believe is worse than the others. He does not talk, only makes noises. How do you know they are physically punishing their children if you do not see it? You only hear it!

I can actually hear them physically punishing their children. I'm far from jumping to conclusions. She hasn't said she's heard a smacking sound and tbh unless they're in the garden you would not hear a smacking sound just cries. I'm a he. Also, in my original post, I stated
. Yes, I can hear it from my garden. We live in something far from a mansion.we've heard the mother and father physically punishing the children.
I haven't posted since the original post, however I have been reading everyones posts.

Thanks for all the responses. Yesterday evening the kids were in the garden again with some other kids and I heard one of them ask 'why did your dad smack you?'. That was proof enough for me.
Have contacted NSPCC.
Mum has also decided it's time to move, as I have left home and she no longer needs a large house. All houses are housing association so will try and find an exchange/swap for her.

I'm not trying to side with the parents or dissuade you from reporting them, but you've heard a child say 'why did your dad smack you?' and you've jumped to the conclusion that he's physically abusing them. And as another poster has said when a parent does this, kids can scream blue murder.
When I worked at morrison's i lost count of the amount of times you'd hear a kid screaming all over the shop like they were being tortured, but my first thought was never 'i'm going to report that parent to the NSPCC because they're clearly abusing their child based on a sound i can hear'.
I don't know, i'm not saying the parents are innocent, he's been arrested for abusing his wife, but that doesn't go that he's also abusing the kids. As for you constantly hearing everything that goes on, if you were my neighbour i'd be inclined to think of you as being quite nosy.
As i said before, a smack could mean a swipe round the backside for being naughty. It doesn't automatically equal capital punishment.0
