Tony it's up to you, but they won't give you back the money, they will ignore your letters and your parents will have to go to court, where you are in the hands of a judge who could go either way. Myself I would cut my losses and just move on with life, doing all this for £60 seems to be a waste when not only you but your parents have to go to court, your time will not be compensated for as you are not making the claim.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • I know more then most that you can't beat the system but if people like me don't try things will get even more totalitarian in this country.

It's nothing to do with it being totalitarian , your parents paid an invoice that they shouldn't , these are a private company and nothing to do with the government. By proceeding I think it's going to cost you more than you will get back, which makes little sense. As I said its your money and time, but I would rather spend it on more practical things, like advising others not to fall for it, that costs the parking companies far more than a claim for £60

Whilst I completely applaud your stance on this matter Tony, I have to agree with Taffy on this.

The case is not yours to fight and never can be - would have been different if the car you had been driving was a hire car and the hire company had paid, but it wasnt.

IMO you are best off eating humble pie - chalk it down to experience and forget about it.
You may click thanks if you found my advice useful
  • Tony, I'm with Taffy and muckybutt. Make sure your parents know how to deal with any future private parking tickets (it might be a bit more complicated than 'ignore' after 1st October - see relevant threads) then move on. Your relationship with your folks is the most important thing here.

I can see were Tony is coming from and if someone conned my parents I would not be best pleased. The main problem is they have the cash and it would be difficult to get it back from them, even though it has been done!

Take a day or two to cool off, before making any decisions. Yours is a complicated case as its basically your Dad who would need to issue a claim.
  • Ive fallen out with my parents over this, thus no seeing their granddaughter i am truly livid theyve gone behind my back over this.

As Dave says we're all in it together and its a big society .... being ripped apart by parasites.

Sorry to hear its gone that far, so can understand your anger, but in your parents defence these shysters depend on using intimidation and impersonation to kid people.
Plus some older folk don't like owing, my old Mum would rush out and pay a bill as soon as it landed on the mat!

I think it may be best to put your time into repairing your relationship with your parents and forget Parkingeye. You can get even with them in the future!
  • I will speak to these thieves tomorrow and put it to them that if they keep the 10 pound it costs to park and then donate the remaining 50 pound to a childrens hospice of their choice i will put the same amount in.

Maybe the only way of me being reasonable to put an end to this i will let you know the outcome.

Anyway as others have said time to relax in the bath.

You've banned your daughter from seeing her grandparents? Because they paid a parking fine?
