Parking Eye scum!

Options
On the 17th August i parked at the service station just outside of Oxford that has parking eye .... though i didnt notice until after leaving about 4 hours later.

It was about 3am when i parked as i was shattered and had a sleep.

Now the car is registered in my mothers name, so these people sent a billl for 60GBP to her house which she stupidly paid.

Now i am utterly livid that she would go behind my back on what is a civil case and we've had a huge fallout.

So i am wondering as this company have billed the wrong person
is there anything i can do for them to come after me and get the money my mother has paid back.

I am willing to cut my nose off to spite my face as i hate what England has become where everyone is willing to .screw. everyone over at the drop of a hat.

Maybe next time i will carry on driving whilst tired and run some one over im sure that'd make them happy, well it would me if it were the owner of parking eye or Moto.
.. i can honestly say at 3am i did not see a sign about this parking eye.

Tony, you can't take them to court, it wasn't your money. Your mother would have to do it. Of course, there's nothing to stop you doing all the paperwork and just getting her to sign it - but if it does finish up in court, she will have to turn up to plead her case. You could of course drop the case if it looks like going that far. It's a question of who blinks first.

Not sure what the basis of her claim would be. Perhaps that there was no contract between her and them, and she was therefore duped into paying a sum to which they were not entitled. Obviously you can help her prove that she was not the driver, 'cos you were!

Anyhoo, you can bring a claim here, it's very easy:

You have precious little chance of getting the money back. I have heard of a case where someone sued them, but your Mum would need to do this, not you, and it's not a guaranteed success.

I would chalk this up to experience and make it up with your mum.

And yes, we all hate these scammers as much as you do, which is why we inhabit this forum.

  • Cheers im not letting it lie, i should say it was my father who paid it but the car is in my mothers name ... he can have a day in court for being deceitful.

I will never pay another penny in tax to this shythole of a country, its the straw that broke the camals back!
  • Would chargeback on a credit card be worth looking into as the contract isnt with my father.

Or going to "Trading Standards and the "Office of Fair Trading"

Your only recourse is to bring a claim against the parking company. Only the person who paid them in the first place can do this, you can't do it on their behalf (other than to help them fill the forms out, and accompany them to the small claims court should it get that far).

If your father actually paid by credit card, then he can ask for a chargeback but he might struggle to pursuade the credit card company to comply. Did he pay by card?

Your parents haven't done anything deceitful. They're the victims.

However, I do agree with you about the motorway service station owners.

Ok without doubt i will take these !!!!!! to court, what is the best way to cause them as much hassle as possible i dont really care about a few hundred pound its not even a days wages.

Its purely on principle, of fighting big brother Britain.

So you'll never buy anything that was produced in the UK or is sold over here?

Even meat exported abroad will have had tax paid to the Government.
  • Im leaving this hell hole very shortly, thus it is possible for me to avoid income tax .... and council tax!

If i buy British made clothing in Asia it'll have Asian tax on not British.
  • After reading this article will this give me a leg to stand on in court.

Its also only 10 pounds to park for the evening yet theyve charged 6 times that ... for if anyone has time to read it.
