Orange 'Free' Broadband

Oh and the Santa elf team are the previously sales team from before with a new name and some very special offers.... hardly! I get anytime calls of BT for £2.90 a month.0

What would a judge make of a sworn affidavit by a former member of the Orange sales staff, confirming what they were instructed to offer and say when selling mobile contracts ?
Surely, that would trump any duplicitously buried small print, inserted into the T&C's by Orange's team of pettifoggers (aka the legal team) ?
This polemic has now received 43,000 hits. Those 43,000 then talk to another 43,000, and those 86,000 etc .................. Orange burns whilst the executives fiddle.
Is Orange's PR chief on holiday, or, is he away buying new underwear before his appearance at the quasi court of Anne Robinson ?0 -
I have just spoken to the Exec office, again after not receiving my call back within 72 hours.
I was told that there are only around 100 complaints that have been escalated through Ofcom out of 70,000 people that would have been affected by this.
They highlighted that they are offering deals based on the material detrement rules, which are set out by ofcom or trading standards (who knows?!). That is to say, if you are going to be paying more than you currently do under your current home picked deals (whether you have free evening weekend calls, or broadband, or a fixed term pre-paid land line contract), they will offer discounts to ensure the new deal is not going to cost you anymore. You can also push the higher call charges from Orange (say, compared to BT).
The moral of the story: Don't just read this thread - start your own complaint, start your own journey

That is my next piece of research! how much this is going to cost me BT v Orange landline calls!
But, my outstanding niggle is WHY do they want the land lines!!!!0 -
One option I would consider carefully would be:
18 months of Orange landline rental including broadband for the current price of BT line rental saver (£129.00). Using the argument that BT is only a twelve months contract, and material detrement.
I would then add to the discussion the features Orange are unable to provide (divert etc), the comparable cost of calls, and the comparable cost of bundles I might like to add.
I also want the new Iphone and an actual Orange.0 -

No wonder they haven't called me... my LRS from BT is only a month old now so the buy out would be £120 please Orange... They originally offered £50 like i was lucky!0 -
Companies have targets in budgets, often funding is based on reaching & exceeding budgeted figures. I think that there may be a need for a number of active residential land line customers.
Whatever the reason I will not move my landline ( I am a BT 12 month up front customer ) to Orange as I cannot trust them. They increased our monthly mobile costs in contract, who would like to bet on them not doing the same with land line rental costs.
I have made it clear to Orange exec office that I can`t / would not even if I could, move my line rental to them. I await the secret squirrel call and will see what they can offer me to honour the contract I have with them to supply me with `free ` broadband ....SMA 4000TL Inverter, 17 REC 235PE Panels, South facing, roof angle \ `ish, 3995 watt system.Installed Nov 2011.0 -

Love it!
On principle, I will be going elsewhere because Orange are crap anyway. I'm going to leave immediately with the BB and as soon as I can with the mobile.
I have now had a lovely offer from Tesco for BB, too, as well as PlusNet. Mind you, I'd rather go with AnyOldBroadband than Orange now, so I don't really care so long as it doesnt cost me the Earth.
I would take the iPhone and an actual Orange though, as an as-well-as. :rotfl:

I wouldnt believe anyone at Orange who tells me only 100 complaints have gone to Ofcom. With this forum, BBC's Watchdog plus numerous other sites the word is out and the complaints will rise even further.
The rebranding should be Everyone Elsewhere, as that is where the customers are going to go to get the Everything they want.0
