Orange 'Free' Broadband

As said before Orange will be in breach of oral contract when they actually disconnect my broadband. Will Orange really disconnect customers who have contacted them, logged Ofcom complaints, but disputes remain unresolved?
Again, according to Ofcom today...
"nobody can stop Orange disconnecting the broadband"
I guess it is basically up to the individual how to follow it up. I also brought up about the 8 week rule, and it came back to the above.
After your broadband is disconnected, if it goes that way, you have to keep records (obviously) of the extra costs you believe you have had to meet. This could be for paying for a new broadband supply, line rental, even if you take Oranges offer. You might also consider working in the cost of your personal time, or the time of a solicitor, should you need one.
The only two options now are to accept your broadband will end and arrange to pay a company of your choice for it to continue and do nothing, or take Orange directly to court, all by yourself. Hardly appropriate considering the exsistance of Ofcom.0 -
I've only joined tonight because I am an Orange customer with free broadband. But the first I heard about the free broadband being withdrawn was on tonight's Watchdog. I have had no letter, e-mail, text or voicemail. Are there others who have yet to hear from Orange.0

Resolving our individual complaints will be our own personal responsibility (if Orange broadband is disconnected) such as pursue to CISAS or Small Claims Court, or both.
If the Special Team do ring! I will try to do a deal i'm happy with.
I have little hope in Ofcom or Watchdog affecting the outcome of my case.
special team are a sale's team, they not going to offer anything,
they simply want your underpants ? (sorry mean money)0 -
Explicit in BBC Watchdog's comment "your move Orange" is that they now have their claws into this nefarious act of blatant mis-selling.
In effect they are giving Orange the right of reply, and I expect that this issue will receive wider Watchdog coverage in the coming weeks. What's the betting that Orange's first salvo will be to inform the nation that they 'are absolutely committed to providing excellent customer service' !
My BB was sold as a 'free for life' service on the back of maintaining an Orange mobile contract. Clearly, many tens (hundreds ?) of thousands of Orange customers were given the same verbal pledge.
All the Orange Executive Office need to do is speak with members of the sales force from 2006/2009. Just ask them how they couched the sale of mobile contracts - it really is that simple. Then ask the Regional Sales Managers why all their front line staff were offering 'free for life broadband' as a sales incentive. As sure as eggs are eggs they did not do this off their own backs did they ?
Having gleaned this information, it then becomes a moral imperative for Orange to honour their promise. I am not interested in what page 21, paragraph 13, subsection 4(i) of the contract says - it was mis-sold, and blatantly mis-sold at that. We know that, Orange know that, and, thanks to BBC Watchdog, the whole country will soon know that.
It's "your move Orange"0 -
Exactly, its Orange's first & foremost apologise for the handling & ensure no customer is out of pocket until end of contracts, its that simple....
Those contacting Watchdog, inform them of the move to EE - you can publically damage the brand before launch....revenge;)SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
OK I did contact Orange last week to discuss their email regarding stopping my free BB but got nowhere. I then thought id sit it out and see what happened as my cut off date is 6 Nov. I have now decided to take this further and emailed Ofcom the other day and got the usual reply. I have now just emailed the link supplied by Ofcom http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/contacting_us but wondering if I should also email the exec office and if so does anyone know the address please?0

My friend and I have both been on the Orange free broadband since it's first inclusion (2006?) .
Neither of us had heard about this until last night, so does that mean we are waiting for our letters or it only affects some accounts?
I renewed my contract last month and Orange told me that they were now giving the free broadband with "no download limits" as I was thinking of changing provider due to the streaming TV that we use!!
Unfortunately for them, I have a truely unlimited (for the time being??) mobile data limit as well, so i'll be streaming tv with that if they mess me about!!0 -
Well the woodwork apparently is crawling with non informed Orange customers thanks to a few seconds Watchdog primetime viewing...
Shugmonkey check all your email accounts, including the one that is your modem login for broadband.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies...
