Orange 'Free' Broadband

Wow !
I have just noticed that this polemical dispute page has received over 31,000 hits in just 4 weeks (top left hand corner).
So, it's not just me then !0 -
It's very simple why Orange are doing it this way.
Allow people out of the mobile contract and they get a MASS exodus.
Doing it this way, they pick up SOME landline customers and then lose SOME mobile customers, but over a two year period.
Cold calculating maths plain and simple.
Which in itself goes against the guidelines of Unfair contracts as they are acting purely out of commercial interest.0 -
This thread started over a month ago, and Orange EE have made no decision and done nothing except to stress everyone trying to deal with them. I don't believe a word they say over waiting for legal and exec to make a decision - they are just stringing it out. Why? in the hopes that most will move line rental to them or move elswhere, leaving just a small percentage of people wanting a just outcome for them one day to deal with.
The situation is impossible, Ofcom have proved to be a joke and would appear to be in bed with EE not protecting consumers. I bet Orange staff are just laughing at us, they are treating this like a game. A big corp bullying its customers into moving services tying them more into this miss selling company. There focus is entirely on gaining new customers via Iphone 5 and 4G.
Not to be trusted.0 -
I havent received any email or letter so does it mean I get to stay on free broadband package or is it ending for everyone....no matter what their contract says? I have had free broadband for over five years now0

The situation may appear to be impossible, but only if we allow it, yes Ofcom/EE are 'cosied' up together, but that shouldn't stop any effort by affected consumers; but of course is dependant on each individual.
I agree with member 'watchdog' and his reference to the Hoover debacle, which took years to settle but was to the companies detriment.Persistence pays, and as I have said before, there is strength in numbers.
I refused to get stressed by this, frustrated yes, but I am not losing sleep and would certainly not allow it to injure my health.
I shall be calling the exec office shortly as their 48hrs is up at 12.04!0 -

I have had it since launch and i got a letter. They have said under no uncertain circumstances will anybody on free or £5 broadband packages "escape" a letter of disconnection.0 -
I have had 2 emails
1st said disconnection 17/10/2012
2nd 06/11/2012
Exec office knew nothing about the 2nd email and couldn't confirm what date disconnection will take place
Re skullduggery; don't think they had given due consideration to the mis-selling aspect nor the massive uprising
Also, they thought they had it all covered in their T&C's......
But as we have already established, they can withdraw their 'offer' for the future, but to us who have been 'offered' and 'accepted' the T&C's do not stand up and a legal contract has been formed.0 -
What is the first / earliest threatened broadband disconnection date? Mine is 17/11/12.
I think they may not actually disconnect anyone, if there is no early resolution and we let it play out.
A gamble and high risk stakes to play of course! As soon as they disconnect you, they are in breach of contract (in my opinion!)
Obviously they hope most will just switch phone lines without complaint.
The Legal team can advise the Executive team in 1 minute that Orange could be in breach of contract from miss selling. So to be a month without resolution, suggests some skullduggery at work here.
Or maybe their business decision makers are that incompetent and the processes to make a decision slow and protracted. Either way Orange appear to be playing a great game holding out.
My date was 15/10 then like others i received another letter giving a different date: 4/11 (4th being my billing date).
I have already moved my broadband - i want nothing to do with a company that cheats me repeatedly (price rise, removal of livebox 2nd line and now removal of broadband). I am only seeking the cancellation of my mobile contract as EE have breached the contract.
I could have kept the free broadband until cut off just to get as much free as possible but then i would have missed out on Plusnets half price broadband for a year deal!0 -
