Orange 'Free' Broadband

Think they have meticulously cleaned up their websites!
I too have been trawling, (T&C's) nothing pre October 2006!0 -
Got a text from a mate of mine last night asking if i'd sorted my broadband yet.
As a mate of his who "recently" renewed his Orange contract and specifically asked the question "Will i keep my free broadband" to which he was told Yes. He then got the email/letter/text about it being removed and he called them to question it and i'm told by my mate that they have honored the free broadband for him!!!????.
I'm writing my letter to Orange trw, as I've written to OFCOM and got a ref number, problem is i don't want the free broadband now as I've placed an order for fibre, i want out and away from Orange, lol. Has anyone got a letter template to send to Orange?

Just like Orange to confuse you there are 2 t&c's on renamed package/s from 26/10/06 http://www.sendspace.com/file/9cp3ts
http://www.sendspace.com/file/2wtgzi
Note:
"7. If you are on an Eligible Tariff the Offer will be applied to your account for the period you remain on an Eligible Tariff" if your further mobile & broadband commitment was retained under section 7 by Orange section 6 "If you are a Eligible Customer you must be on at least a monthly £30 tariff (an "Eligible Tariff") to qualify for the Free Broadband offer" then section 6 does not apply, Orange omitted this term as a requirement on your further commitment on both the mobile & broadband contracts agreement at that time.
Section 9 - All current customers migrating (and thus contract re-commitments) to animal plans with a "handset" upgrade DID tie both mobile & broadband contracts to a 24 month period, and thus applies both will run concurrently with each other for a period of a minumum of 24 months on both mobile & broadband contracts:
"If you're an existing customer in the Eligible Period (last two months of current contract or outhwith previous minimum period) requiring a handset upgrade and migrating to an animal package, you agree to be subject to a 24 month contract"
So....current customers moving to or re-contracting to animal plans with a new "handset" where Orange omitted term section 6 minimum of £30 from any new mobile & broadband contract agreement at that "upgrade" time is for a mobile & "secondary" broadband contract for a period of 24 months on both services agreed.
Remove FREE broadband, you remove both contracts for customers who "re-contracted" with a new mobile phone with ANY animal plan with a 24 month term on both.
Furthermore "line rental" does not make ANY part of the implied joint agreed 24 month mobile or broadband contracts & that would be a 30 day notification of a change of T&C to enforce such "Orange only line rental" on FREE broadband & attatched concurrent mobile contracts.
Termination fees do not apply to mobile contracts as Orange breach both contracts by removing FREE broadband, or by trying to enforce Orange "line Rental" to retain FREE broadband would be a change of T&C you would have to agree to. Both are to a customers financial detriment.
Orange really have shot themselves in the foot, financially & in brand destruction.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

I haven't had a £30 contract for years as with loyalty :rotfl: discounts it came below that? but i was still told i would keep it. Now writing my letter to Orange with the help of the examples in this thread thanks all
The second bold bit might be where we come undonealthough we were still mis-sold at contract renewals and it's going to have a material change to our monthly outgoings.

I can't believe I was sucked in by these fly !!!!!!s again. I was going to terminate my mobile/broadband contract with orange in February, but their retentions team made more promises - which today's letter shows they aren't prepared to keep. Despite assurances from their representatives, they are forcing customers to sign up for line rental from them or loose the broadband. The cheeky rep actually tried to convince me they were doing me a favour.
They can keep their "free" broadband - I'd sooner pay more to another provider than trust them again.0 -

There's one mention of "Free Broadband offer in the UK" in this FT presentation from 2006, but nothing you could use to any great effect.

At the end of the day as mentioned by previous contributors do Orange, Ofcom and the OFT really think that the thousands of us that swear blind we were "Induced" (Sale of Goods Act) into maintaining expensive mobile contracts on the basis of the Free Broadband are lying?
Ask Orange for a Data Protection Request and they are duty bound to release any recordings, paper files etc.0
